6. | Meeting Notes of the Blach Hand Posted by Sai Barris on 7/15/2004 1:54:42 PM ((This is, of course, all OOC info))
The entrance to the Broken Mask Inn showed signs of the recent rains. Cobble stones, swept clean by an overnight storm, were free of their usual detrius of refuse and vomit. Margaret did, after all, pour a strong drink. The sturdy oaken door creaked as Sai pushed it open.
The Inn was quiet. Sai could hear the gentle squeak of glasses being wiped down and his footsteps echoing off the smoke-stained walls.

7. | Re: Birth of the Black Hand.... Posted by Sai Barris on 6/10/2004 1:10:20 PM A young gnome with a furtive look in his eye scampers into the alley, slipping away from the sermon. He takes out a small brush and inkwell and examines them briefly. Plenty of dye remains. He finds a suitable stretch of wall and quickly scrawls a black hand. Briefly examining his handiwork, a small smile of satisfaction creeps onto his face.
He emerges from the alley quietly and slips into the crowd. |

I will not try to convince the common man of the good or ills or necromancy for his opinion is already well-formed. Instead I will appeal to those of you who know the importance of what we do at Ka'azim. The importance of educating those who have discovered that they posesses certain Arcane powers and must be ... |

12. | Re: Transport System!!!! what a wonderfull roleplay tool!!! Posted by Sai Barris on 4/30/2004 7:23:37 PM First, i've noticed some of this, too, Veran. The tells I've received have shot up in number since the info tool was removed.
Second,
(snip)
people have a funny tendency of "bumping into" someone ELSE who just HAPPENS to be in the same area as a known DM's PC, or when that person is dead.
(/snip)
You know, I've always tried to be fairly conscious of this. I realize when DMs are running something, it may screw up logistics to ... |

dude, you need to drink more water. really.

if i had the power to move this thread out of the flames section, i would be doing it now.
in all seriousness, though. I've had it pretty well drilled into me by the DMs here that Vives is based on two things:
1. Thou shalt RP 2. Thou shalt party-up

16. | Stupid Macs Posted by Sai Barris on 8/26/2004 10:37:44 AM Hey all,
I, obviously have been offline for a while & will continue to be for a bit longer. Either a. Macsoft sent me faulty discs or b. the permissions on my computer are "wonky" (its a technical term).
Either way, it means no Sai IG in Vives for a bit. *sniffs* |
17. | Re: ***Performance Announcement*** Posted by Sai Barris on 8/2/2004 5:50:09 PM 3 cheers for Macha for a great and enjoyable performance!!!

19. | Re: Wishlist addition Posted by Sai Barris on 8/8/2004 10:38:11 PM *coughs*
Gnomes, people. Gnomes!
Actually, this is only a bit tongue-in-cheek, as both the Dwarven and Half-Orc(-ian? -ish?) cities are under used, so adding another one would be....possibly excessive, to say the least. But c'mon....an underground gnomish town. Tinkering and Illusion central. Weird mechanical contraptions (any other stereotypes I'm missing?).
I think I just bristle at the "little people" being grouped together in one town. End ... |

However, I keep seeing this argument happening & both sides are addressing different points: Difficulty vs User-experience. They are differnet things. Treat them as such or else this argument will never end.
Also, I'm jet-lagged, tired, & in an airport with flight delays. I probably will come off as a bit snipish. I apologize in advance.

21. | Re: Proposed New Travel system Posted by Sai Barris on 3/23/2004 1:13:13 PM yay Ara!
I was afraid the ideas being bounced around in this thread were being ignored or shot down as against the ethos of Vives. Thanks for echoing some of the sentiment & letting us know that someone is taking the ideas to heart. its truly appreciated.

As for the finding it hard to get 150 gps together as a low level character , rubbish.
(/snip)
actually, if yr playing a lawful char, it can be quite tricky, as a great number of containers can give you an alignment shift. hence, no looting...hence no gold.
as for yr idea....i thought i was the only one who aspired to be a bootlegger here. ^_^

25. | Re: A Letter to High Judge Griffin Posted by Sai Barris on 5/9/2004 12:01:08 PM Cynda had taken to wandering the streets. She had found nothing but dead ends so far in her investigation. The steady sound of her shoes clomping on the pavement soothed her.
Even though she had passed it three times, she walked past the Unicorn Inn. Inside, the tenor of the crowd had changed. The guards had just change shifts and those that had manned the walls through the morning and afternoon had decided to take a few pints before heading home.
These tense ... |
