Re: Help for Newcomers 10/10/2003 8:03:10 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Just one thing, it seems the Ip address given for the hackpack download in the server description is erroneous. It gives 66.30.190.230/vives..could not get anywhere with it, and I am sure it can just put many people off

hello 10/10/2003 7:12:42 AM   (Total replies: 2)
Hi there, I am trying out your Mod. I have been RP ing on a superb module called th VAst up to now, but too frequent deaths meant also too often re-doing the same things over and over, so I noticed that module and so far I am impressed by the web site, and pleased to see the community seem to be real serious about Roleplay. My char in game (as soon as I get the Hack Pack) will be Ayako Akisetsu. Be aware that English is not my native language so there will be typo and funny things ...

too much xp 10/14/2003 3:35:23 AM   (Total replies: 3)
Again, my newbie take here. xp is a hot topic here as it is everywhere. After my 4 hour trial period here, my char was already level 3, with a chainmail +1, boots that give 1 to charisma, a scarab of protection +3 (that I could not wear), etc... I don't want my char to stay forever in the low-levels, but I do believe that I advanced too fast. I know a lot of players are going to scream but here is my wish list: - cut down the amount of xp from combat, skill, magic and crafting by ...

Ok, i was going to play and see more of the worlds before adding to this topic, but I would just like to add a few things, because although I am a newbie here, I also come from a roleplay background. So, maybe one thing that would explain my take on things is that the previous server I played on was a HCR server, with low magic and low xp. After almost 3 and a half months of playing 5 days a week, I managed to get my main char past the level 5 bar. Ok I am not trying to say the same should ...

Re: Pick Pocketing --> a newbie's take on PP 10/14/2003 3:05:25 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Ok, here is what I have seen and what I think about Pickpocketing. I hate to be PPed... but thiefs are commonplace in the medieval wolrd. So the skill should not be restricted, it should even have a (small) xp reward. Now, I also think that PP should not be a way to enrich yourself and become powerful, but rather an opportunity to create great Roleplay situations. When a thief is caught, rather than frying him just because I can (huh! I am level 10 he is level 5! Boom, fireball...) , I'd ...

Re: Extensible Creature Behaviours 10/18/2003 8:12:41 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Just one thing I noticed playing with a Druid. If I try to Animal Empathy them (for e.g. to get them out of the way so they don't attack the other members of the party), after I release them from their domination they become hostile and will not become neutral again. As I see it, Animal Empathy is the ability to communicate with animals and is not a hostile action. Would it make sense for initially neutral animals to remain neutral when they are released from domination? rgds Ayako

After server crash 10/16/2003 6:55:02 AM   (Total replies: 1)
After server crash, could we have the options of coming back to the same place as before the crash or to a safe place? I am saying that because, there was a server crash, whilst we were exploring mirgul caverns, and when I came back (alone after the server crash), well I was alone in the cavern and it was impossible to get out for my char, so I got killed (I actually logged as I was dying since I thought that was not a regular death). This is all the more important when you travel to more ...
