| 1. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 6/14/2006 10:52:12 AM I'd like to give a shout out to Marlena, love of my life OOC and drug-buddie IC. Also to Lucius, who for some reason hasn't seen fit to kill Wil. And to Rosen, Ophie, Zeb, Talion and Gil for being all-around fun roleplayers and making me feel immediately welcome and involved on Vives.
More anonymous shout-outs to the DM's, who never fail to grant RP XP here and there, and Wil's patron, J-something, for the diamond I have yet to find a buyer for.

| 2. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 6/28/2006 1:39:31 PM Shoutouts to Lucius, Nidarren, Cantor and Talion for somehow managing to keep my lvl 1 fighter alive through the lich's tower, start to finish. I even got a hit or two in!
More shoutouts to Form, winning the award for the best impression of a concious person.
And to Marlena, who's ingame simulations of insobriety really make me pine for my college days. |
| 3. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 7/2/2006 11:59:38 PM Shoutouts to Dana, for providing Allan with phat l00t (that I may use in coming years, if I'm lucky). To PDWalker, for comparing Wil to a Monty Python character (even if it was Robin). To Marlena, for the most fun I have in and out of game, and to JJ, for taking the step I know all too well the difficulties of. |
| 4. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 7/8/2006 12:30:43 PM Shoutouts to everyone involved in the rescue last night. T'was a total blast, even getting my face cleaved off by some invisible barbarian.
More shoutouts to the DM's for giving us the Do Over in the first place. We were clocking 3+ min. lag towards the end of attempt #1.
Always a fun evening,

| 5. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 7/15/2006 3:17:35 AM Ludicruous shoutouts to everyone involved in the statuesque bard mini-adventure (such as it was). Fenn and Fat Sam for torturing the helpless, petrified Karli, Ser'ai for her stoic assistance and hanging 'round till the end, Talion for making the whole endeavor financially worth Wil's while, the other spectators for making Karli feel that much more self concious about her predicament, certainly Marlena for trying to Cure Light Wounds in Great Plains, and starting the whole mis-adventure, and ... |
| 6. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 7/24/2006 1:27:01 PM Yeah, no kidding. We were lucky we were near the end of our journey already when the game started, or we might have had a nice bout of OD roleplaying.

| 7. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Ghannodahn on 8/18/2006 2:35:17 AM Shoutouts to Mykal for a dastardly, circus-courtroom-filled evening, and Kan Brenner and Karli for fun as fodder.
Allan's a wanted man now. I'm sooo proud of him.

I got half a smile and zero shame I got a reflection with a different name Got a brand new blues I can't explain Who did you think I was?
Every mornin when the day begins I make up my mind but change it back again I'm a shifter of the shape I'm in Who did you think I was
You got my number but I always knew the score Who did you think I was?

| 10. | Re: Hyperparenting Posted by Ghannodahn on 8/8/2006 1:50:40 AM I too an a huge critic of American culture, and cantankerous about it, so I'm not offended in the least.
I had the joy of facing our son's school principal when she brought her little Virginia State Law card to read to me, and deal with her condescending looks of "how dare you so horribly endanger your child" as she explained the ludicrous laws to be. I pointed out, almost gleefully, that we were going to be moving to Washington very shortly, but apologized for not knowing ... |

| 12. | Re: The Stoning of Karlina Posted by Ghannodahn on 9/16/2006 4:41:56 PM That goes down as the most fun evening of NWN I've had, period. When it happened, we really thought the night was totally screwed, but in fact a DM had stumbled onto us not 10 min. into the ordeal, to offer some ability to move the rescue attempt along.
Thanks to all involved, players and DM's, and to Fat Sam for not killing Wil. |

| 15. | Re: NWN 2 Toolset and PWs... Posted by Ghannodahn on 6/13/2006 3:46:32 PM They did state in clarification that it was walkmeshes in particular that needed to be downloaded. I suspect this may be similar to the transfers that take place every time we transition to a new area at present.

| 16. | Re: NWN 2 Toolset and PWs... Posted by Ghannodahn on 6/19/2006 12:42:50 PM The following quote is from Charles Mead, Gameplay Scripter for NWN2:
I can't definitively answer many of these questions as I simply don't know with 100% certainty. Will there be a stand alone server? I think there will be, and I haven't heard anything to the contrary.
What I can tell you for certain is that consideration is given to PWs, due in large part to the fact that a number of us think they are really cool. I have no doubt there ... |

What he said was unique about NWN is that while most games had a spike in sales early on, and then tapered over the next year or two to a slow trickle, NWN by contrast had peaked, levelled off with still-significant regular sales, and then remained flat. This was, by their reckoning, due to the unparalleled support for MP, PW's included.

| 19. | Re: NWN 2 Toolset and PWs... Posted by Ghannodahn on 7/13/2006 5:06:05 PM From what I've seen, the vast majority of improvements beyond the graphics update and customizable UI will be in the toolset. That it is a .NET application with a plug-in architecture, as well allowing for runtime assignment of event handlers are features that should not be underestimated when it comes to the building/world aspect of NWN2. |
| 20. | Re: NWN 2 Toolset and PWs... Posted by Ghannodahn on 6/30/2006 9:50:51 AM More details on PW support from yesterday's dev chat:
[21:19] [Dweller] [Tyr`] Although you devs have hinted that NWN2 would have more limited support for PWs, would you please indulge us in some specifics? Is their auto hak downloading? Must the client download the walkmesh? How is the module size going to effect development and hosting? Basically this is an open question, im just wondering (as im sure most of the people here are tonight) what ... |

| 23. | CEP v2 Posted by Ghannodahn on 8/9/2006 4:18:27 PM http://nwn.bioware.com/players/cep.html
I know we're not presently using CEP for reasons of current HAK-pak inclusion, but there is a new release nigh, and besides a wide variety of new content, it included the DLA team's implementation of rideable mounts.
Money quotes from an interview on v2 (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/cep_interview_2.html):
For Players: CEP brings together some long awaited features to Neverwinter Nights, ... |
| 24. | Re: CEP v2 Posted by Ghannodahn on 8/9/2006 7:29:03 PM For Builders: One of the major improvements is that we've changed the structure of the CEP haks themselves so that builders can now use CEP the way they want to use it. This new version of CEP remains easy to use for new builders, yet offers increased power and flexibility for experienced builders who want to further customize CEP.
Builders get to pick and choose exactly what custom content and features they want to appear in their toolset and in their ... |
| 25. | Re: FYI! Carfax alert! Posted by Ghannodahn on 8/8/2006 12:54:39 PM Is it possible they start that way upon the module loading, but the ones that spawn in after they are killed might be beefed up a bit?
That's the way it seemed to me... first run through, they were not ignoring AC, and I got a save when they hit. But once they respawned, they were evil little demons of pain, and I went from 17 to 0 strength in about 6 sec.
