1.Re: Custom Portraits
Posted by Garrak on 2/26/2005 5:28:48 PM
Uhm, have a small question here. Didnt think that much about a portrait when starting out my character. I had to do a clean re-install and lost the one I used, must have been some other portrait pack I got from somewhere, cant remember. Well anyway, the question, did anyone see a portrait for Garrak or just the default bald head? If you did and you have the portrait somewhere, can you locate it? I would need itSmiley

After a long break from NWN, I return to Neverwinter Connections to try and find a good game...

Lo and behold, I find Vives.SmileyAnd after the last 2 hours of play, I have to say it feels like home. You can definately tell that a lot of time, energy and heart went into crafting the world..

I look forward to playing for a while (pending that my application gets ...

I had that problem once and was told to create a new character, walk him into the zone where nwn crashed with the first character and log out. After this nwn should work when logging in with the first character. And if you have a ATI card turn off shiny water as Phoenix said.

I do not mind either if someone wants to heal me without saying anything. But like Tasra, I would like it too if something was said though. I try to do the same.

8.A minor technical curiosity
Posted by Garrak on 3/20/2006 1:38:40 AM
I thought I would post about the phenomenon which has been occuring to me for some time now. This happens only with anything vives.dyndns.org related stuff. Like this website or the game server. My comp manages to connect to this site but sometimes, not always, manages not to transfer any data. So if I want to open a new post to read it or post something it will connect but thats it. At times I need to click a post about a dozen times before it finally opens it. Same thing happened yesterday ...

Yeah I do use firefox as any normal person would doSmileyj/k Ok I'll look up the IE Tab extension. Anyway it does not explain why the nwn client behaves just the same with the gameserver. Might be something with the ISP aswell.. *shrugs*

I am using the IE Tab now and it works without clicking the links many times in a row. Guess the server problem has something to do with the spirit world of internet. I guess it will start working just fine anytime.
11.Logging chat
Posted by Garrak on 2/28/2006 4:32:46 AM
I am sure I saw a thread regarding this some time ago but I cant seem to find it. What changes do you have to make to your nwn file(s) to be able to log what is said in the chat window. I remember something about a .ini file or something?
12.Re: Logging chat
Posted by Garrak on 2/28/2006 9:57:58 AM
Thank you, I have it working. Does anyone here use any log viewers to sort out the messy logs especially with server chat logging enabled? Or do you use some text editor? I tried two of them found on the vault but they do not work at all.

Posted by Garrak on 2/28/2006 10:18:10 AM
You are right there. I have MS Works so im using that. Much more pleasant to look at than the original text editor too. A shame really the log viewers found in the vault arent worth anything. They promise to help out so much with the logs. Oh well, nothing to do about it.

vim!

Of course, very few people are nerdy enough to know how to use a vi compatible editor, but it sure makes cleaning up the log files a snap.

Right, I clicked the link and found out vim is some sort of text editor. Then I proceeded to glance at the manual... I might aswell try and read a book written in russian describing the risks of changing fuel rods in a nuclear ...

Posted by Garrak on 9/10/2007 5:52:43 AM
I rarely find anyone on the server in my timezone anymore so I have not felt motivated to play as of late. I have not been active the past year or so because of this. Just checking the forums and waiting for Vives 2 and hoping more people from the GMT - GMT +2 timezones will join. Because of this my main character has become a stranger to the current events and I do not feel like he is fitting in with what is happening. Feels more like Garrak is a relic from the past quietly watching the world ...

17.Re: NPC Tailor
Posted by Garrak on 12/13/2005 4:27:33 PM
I would like to see hoods ingame, make them rogue only or something so that players who would have a real legitimate reason to wear them could do so. Or a hood could be granted to players by DMs after having completed a "hood application" to the DMs with rp reasons etc. etc.
18.Re: NPC Tailor
Posted by Garrak on 12/13/2005 6:20:59 PM
My post was not to be taken overly serious, just reflecting on the above statements. Cloaks with hoods should be very common but then everyone would use them as mentioned above, it would turn out to be boring. The "application" was merely a term for proving you have to have a "valid" reason for using a hood. This way those that really, really need hoods like thieves lurking about could get them without turning the entire PW into a faceless mass of players. This would of ...

20.Re: What's in a Big Mac?
Posted by Garrak on 3/22/2006 3:11:19 AM
I always thought McDonalds "food" tasted like post apocalyptic sewage and reading about all the stuff they put in it I am conviced enough not to touch it with a stick and protective gloves. And the times I actually had a Big Mac I was mad at the sizes of their burgers. I mean they are so tiny you have to eat atleast a dozen of them to still your hunger. And then after one fart you are hungry again. Bleh! And their campaigns for the health of the youth are a bit missplaced while they ...

23.Re: Override combat animations.
Posted by Garrak on 3/14/2006 6:46:32 AM
In the first link for v.2 one user posted a comment saying it wasnt compatible with nwn 1.66. Have you tried this package? Does it work? He also said that v.3 affects every character while v.2 affects just your character. So using the ninja option with v.3 would make all characters fight like ninjas. If the comment is true then I would go for v.2 as I dont want to see everyone fight the same. Which package have you chosen?

Might be the fact that some areas have -alot- of placables. Which makes them look good in my opinion, though will cause fps going down on slower computers... Or i've at least heard such things happening before. Infact when i used to make few of maps of my own the admins always told me having too many placables in the areas...

I have the same problems with the areas mentioned above, and I am not on a slow computer (when talking about nwn). I have ...
