I am sure I saw a thread regarding this some time ago but I cant seem to find it. What changes do you have to make to your nwn file(s) to be able to log what is said in the chat window. I remember something about a .ini file or something?

Thank you, I have it working. Does anyone here use any log viewers to sort out the messy logs especially with server chat logging enabled? Or do you use some text editor? I tried two of them found on the vault but they do not work at all.

Notepad/Wordpad/Word

Any WP application or text editor, afriad there isn't too much of a way around it other than editing the rubbish out by hand.

vim!

Of course, very few people are nerdy enough to know how to use a vi compatible editor, but it sure makes cleaning up the log files a snap.

You are right there. I have MS Works so im using that. Much more pleasant to look at than the original text editor too. A shame really the log viewers found in the vault arent worth anything. They promise to help out so much with the logs. Oh well, nothing to do about it.

Right, I clicked the link and found out vim is some sort of text editor. Then I proceeded to glance at the manual... I might aswell try and read a book written in russian describing the risks of changing fuel rods in a nuclear powerplant while under the influence of impure vodka... I wager I'll stick with MS Works :)

I use MS Excel and then "find and replace" to edit out stuff that re-occurs frequently in a log. Not so familiar with MS Works or Word ets, so not sure if the same thing is possible.
