Sounds interesting. :D

For long conversations in another language, I tend to maximise both the chat and server windows and take screenshots at regular intervals.

4.Re: Calling all elves, half-elves and possibly others

Lianneth Mei'ren
Lianneth Mei'ren is a elven woman of average height, with a slender, almost fragile build. Her hair is dark brown, falling past her shoulders. She has deep green eyes, the colour of woodland in the height of summer.

She is 124 years old and was brought up by her father, Elvariand Mei'ren, in his tower situated in a remote part of Ferein. Her mother died shortly after Lianneth was born; all she knows of the woman is her name, Cithandriel, and the fact ...

Here's some information on elven childhood.

Childhood
The first fifty years of an elf's life is a time of play and exploration, carried out under the eye of the adults of the community they are born into. Elves prefer direct experience over second-hand learning, but there are only some things that can be learnt this way. Children are taught to look for potential dangers before exploring, to recite the tales of Aros and Elbereth, and to learn how to craft. Children ...
6.Re: ***Character Vault Wipe***
Posted by Crimson Butterfly on 4/1/2005 8:56:55 AM
It might be a good idea to have a (stickied and continually updated?) large post containing the current happenings in the world of Vives after the vault is wiped. Blah-blah is happening in Midor (and perhaps a brief who's who, especially with the DM characters) and the same for other countries. Just so we all know where we stand. :-)

On a separate note, I've been a GM in a couple of online games. One of them wiped its character database and it was not an easy decision. We ...

Voted!

The link on NW Vault may need changing now that you have the new server though. :)
8.Re: Approx. lifespan for half-elves in Vives?
Posted by Crimson Butterfly on 12/3/2004 9:34:22 AM
I was always under the belief that elves don't (and in fact can't) fall into a human-like sleep state. Hence their immunity to the sleep spells and spell-like abilities.

I don't think they even dream like the other races; in a planar game (which I know isn't applicable in Vives, but let's use it as an example) if the GM choses to have a demiplane of dreams, elves cannot enter without some hefty magic help.

That said; elves do have visions and other similar things in while ...

Reverie is also referred to as Trance by some people. It is the meditative state that elves use to refresh their body and mind. An elf usually spends about four hours in this state, and is partially aware of the world around them during this period.

Normal sleep for half-elves. :)
11.Resting
Posted by Crimson Butterfly on 11/19/2004 8:03:14 AM
Not a major issue, but I was wondering if there was any particular reason the minimum period between resting for my mage has been increased to 8 minutes?
12.Re: Resting
Posted by Crimson Butterfly on 11/19/2004 10:16:26 AM
There's a decreased period if rest is interrupted?

I was in a party the other day when another member had their rest interrupted (because the emote system sees the word read in the word bread! lol), and before I realised I had cast a good number of buff spells on people. We waited to rest again, but I had to wait a few minutes longer than the other member of the party, it caused a little confusion.

Thanks for clearing that up! :)

The radial menu has to be over the target, not the caster, I believe.

On the up side for those who use invisibility, the bow bug has been corrected in the 1.64. :)

Can you please confirm where you read this.

I wish I could, it was ages ago that I read it. I did however, play in a campaign game this Sunday for which I had to patch to 1.64 and even with my bow equipped, I couldn't see the bard in our party when she cast invisibility on herself. So it seems to be true. :)

You can download the CEP and slap it in your hak folder with glee abandon. Smiley It does nothing unless the module you are playing uses it.

Yeah... Its caused problems a couple of times in the past when people have attacked Stan. I think someone suggested changing him from invunerable to something else that can't be killed, but also would not attack? *Shrugs*

Peace.

That is what he felt. A gentle, soothing warmth that covered his body, wrapping his limbs, relieving his pain. Pain… Why had he been in pain? He couldn’t remember. He opened his eyes and looked around, a smile forming on his lips. It was lovely. Clear blue skies above his head, the sunlight filtering down and gently touching the land below, bathing it in warmth. Tall, strong trees reached up, their leaves a glossy emerald green. He looked down at the soft grass ...

Dear Mr Renoble,

It is certainly not easy to begin the study of the arcane in Vives. I would be happy to share what knowledge I have and wander the various paths with you. If you wish to contact me, I can generally be found around Buckshire or at my home on Mystique Isle.

So after getting my nostalgia on when I installed NWN on the new laptop, I thought I'd drop in here and say hi. Who's still around? It's been a while since I've seen anyone actually IG. :(

I am a member of Tel'Elena; if you wish to contact me I can usually be found around the Buckshire area, or alternatively leave a letter at my residence in Scheppen's Boarding House.
