*An Asashi monk passes one of the announcements*

"A memorial service at the order? I thought only members are allowed into such activities..
and who is that Sara anyway?"

(( You might want to consider talking to the Asashi before starting an event thereWink))

You are more than welcome to ignore my spelling mistakes =p

(( We're in the process of working this out, and Sara was a monk, I think she was a member of Asashi, but I expect Carlton knows this for sure...Smiley))

(( edit: It also doesn't have to be in the monastry proper I expect. Anywhere in the monastry area, if there is an appropriate place, would do. ))

Somewhere in Port Royale...
Posted: 22 Dec 2004 05:32 PM
An armored fist makes a great hole in the table, and all the innkeeper can do is to avoid the attention from the sorrow-frenzied half-orc that breaks everything within reach. When nothing intact is near, he falls to his knees crying. He then lowers his head and whispers"...Sara...why..." Through the tears, a red light of rage shines within the eyes.

OOC:
This suggestion was brought to my attention by someone else. Why not have your memorial service on Mystique Island? Sara held her b'day party there, a special occasion for her and therefore the island is a special place. It seems a more suitable location than the monastery.

Incidentally, if you think Sunday 26th will work. Go for it. I hereby promise to be available for help around 3 pm est.

Johe looked up confused.
"A memorial service? how d'ya know she's ded? Frum wut I herd she went with a ghost wut wus gonna teach her how ta sew. I went to tha Unicorn an' found sum cotton on tha floor, so I guess it's true."
He took a swig from his ale and continued.
"Tha only thing I wus werried about wus that maybe they wus meanie ghosts, trickin' lil Sara, so I staked out the place fer a couple days, but nobudy came. But I took sum of the cotton and had a priest frend of mine see if he could detect any evil on it, and he said nah. So I guess wherever she is, she's happy, an' that's about as much as any of us want right?"
the companions around the table nodded slowly, turning at the sound of a half orc breaking things on the other end of the bar.
"Look", said the guyver," the kid needed some parents in a bad way, ya can't have a lil girl prancing around this werld on her own, no matter how strong you or her think she is.It's just too bluddy dangerous out there, and reely tha's our fault, we gotta guyver harder and make it safer out there. Sum of us tried ta help take care o' her, but who has the time? Now she's got a mom tateach her how ta sew, and keep her outta truble, I'm happy fer her."

In help you mean bringing over a large floating red-glowing greatsword with an unhealthy passion for blood and seperated bodily parts? No thanks ;)

(( Having the service at Mystique Island was a good idea, so I've switched the location. The time will be 3:00pm EST Sunday, Dec 26. We have DM support, thank you Ruldain, we're just looking for some ideas for something special to go with it. ))

The huge half-orc hung, moaning, over the side of the ship as the seas grew heavier and heavier, and the wind stronger. "We're headin' back to Port, it looks like there is a towerin' bag o' wind headed our way!" No sooner had the words left the sailor's mouth when the first huge drops of rain began splatter on the deck of the small ship. "You'd better head below, looks like the rain is a'comin!" Glordong heaved a few more times over the side of the ship, turned and staggered miserably back to the hatch that lead to the lower decks.

*Later that day word begins circulating in the form of small notes posted at various boards, and by word of mouth.*

Service for Sara Torns postponed due to terribles storm. Will be held on Mystique Islands once the weather has improveds. Will post definite times when Glordong knows.

(( Once again, if anyone has any good ideas for the service please post back. I am thinking at this time that perhaps we should try again two Sundays from today at 3:00pm EST. That will be Jan 9/05 at 3:00pm EST. Hopefully by then everyone will be out of holiday mode and we will be able to get something organized. Smiley))

It is rumoured that a half-orc named Vurbag Usko intends to build an orphanage in memory of Sara.

*Notice on the board at Buckshire, and discretely in various inns throughout the land.*

Service for Sara Torns to be held agains if weather permits. Talks to Glordong or Alton Highills if you wishes to participates.

*The notice gives an appropriate time in Vives time, equivalent to 3:00pm EST Wed Jan 5/2005.*

*The huge half-orc looked nervously inside the door of PAJWT. He stepped inside and looked around. Still no sign of Mr. Jessup. He knew Mr. Jessup would want to be at the service. Suddenly a horrible thought occurred to him. What if Mr. Jessup didn't know? Those half dozen children he'd sent to find Mr. Jessup. He'd have to track them down and pay them to stop looking. He didn't want Mr. Jessup to find out that way. Oh no, what would he do about the notices? He couldn't take them down... Glordong sank into a chair at the table and miserably watched the huge green snake slithering across the floor in search of mice. There was nothing for it but to sit here until Mr. Jessup made an appearance, and hope he hadn't spent any time reading notices in inns lately...*

Hm...

The old man stroked his beard gently, looking over the notice. Carefully he produced a small piece of paper and a quill, and wrote carefully upon it, placing the note underneath the original notice. The note was simple, succint; to the point. "Sara is alive." Then shrugging his shoulders, Thomas' features darkened slightly and he offered himself a resigned sigh as he walked away, hands in pockets.

Now the real trick will be to convince everyone...

Deceiver

Byron looks at the scribbling attached to the notice and snorts. The girl is dead, yet this pretender wishes to delude her friends. He shook his head with distain, A liar and con artist, she is. Or worse still, the product of some dark or demonic magic. Yet Byron feared that people would too readily accept this fully grown woman as the nine year old child to which Byron was minimally acquainted with.

Personally, Byron did not care for the silver haired woman’s delusion. There were many possible explanations. From blatant insanity to nefarious thievery, dark necromancy or demonic possession, each more likely then the next, yet none containing the possibility of a child aging years in the span of a few weeks. Byron was leaning on the side of insanity, the girl he has spoken to was so child like in nature that he could think of no other explanation.

Still, the memory of the dead child was blasphemed, and that more then anything bothered him. Let the dead rest he thought in an almost prayerlike fashion. Let the dead rest, and let this evil deceiver meet her just reward for trying to beguile the child’s friends.

Byron nodded and put the matter out of his mind. He would keep an eye open for any dark magic or acts from this deceiver, but for now, he had greater concerns then an insane woman claiming to be a nine year old girl.

Johe sat at the bar and smiled slightly to himself at all the conversations going on. He wasn't one for sitting in dark corners, that just tended to make one look suspicious, wich made people whisper quieter, and made it harder to hear. Everyone was talking about this Sara girl. He listened to all the ideas and nodded to himself as he formulated his own theory. He remembered the strange little gnome obsessed with death that had come to Macha's concert the very same day that "Sara" had "reappeared". It all seemed a bit too much of a coincidence. Some how one of his experiments , like the one he wanted to pull on the white stag, must have had something to do with this. He remembered how miss Macha had forbid him from going to Gorlaths Keep, becuase those poor deders were in enough anguish as it was, and he started to get angry at the conclusions that were forming in his head. Wether she looks like a grownup or not she's still a little kid, he thought to himself, to bring her back to life like THAT wus just a mean thing to do. And wrong very wrong. He took a long swig of ale and started to plan...
