Dis Zig's first arty-kul since Miss Syluneee teached Zig to rite, yus! Zig like pie. But Zig no like da smelly sewers.
Now da sewers is da good becoz of da Sanee-tey-zhun peepulz. Da Zig inter-booed dem and dey sez to Zig, "Da lots of adventooraz go to da sewers and dey get rid of da most baddest traps der dat da Nite Masks put in da sewers and we not able to get rid of. Now we is sure da baddest traps put by da bad ded Masks is gone and we can clean out de sewers da proper way!"
Da Nome, Soido, sez to Zig, "It is da sine of da numbah freeee. I study da numbaz and da end is ni and da rain of da great numbah freeee is comeeng and da numbah freeee will bring clean strumpfiness to all Veeveyz."
Dis is da sounding very good to Zig. Zig sooo happy Zig will eat thirty pies to sellibrate. Zig will share da pies wid any adventooraz dat can prove dey have guyved da bad traps.

Through the efforts of the sanitation department, Port Royale is now mostly restored to its former filthy glory.
Rumours abound of famed zoologist and celebrity author Melphus Benimen prowling the streets and seeking adventurers to join him on a quest to plunge into the watery depths of the sparklingly sludgy sewers in search of the famed River Smiteliness. Rumour also has it that he is seeking THE ORACLE. |

The clean-up of Port Royale continues.
The word on the street is that Anna—resident chirurgeon of the Port Royal Herbalists before it was razed to the ground—has teamed up with Mathelis to set up a new business. Rather than rebuild in Port Royale or move back to the former Buckshire Trading Post, they have set up shop in a cottage on Buckshire Coast. They are joined by Anna's former boss, Zelna, who has up until recently been abroad collecting medicinal supplies from the wilderness.
The former owner of the cottage, Gurt, has not been seen in nearly two years. Streetwise residents of Port Royale and some seasoned adventurers are familiar with old Gurt, who has been undermining the notorious Silver Runner pirates for years. Rumour has it that Cap'n Bones has finally caught up with him and punished him for his treachery.
Then again, rumour also has it that he vanished at the same time that the Silver Runners did, leaving many to believe that some calamity befell the pirates of Ribald Island and Gurt simply chose to retire at long last. Adventurers who have been to Ribald Island may wish to talk to Gurt's old acquaintance in Port Royale to discover the truth for themselves.
In apparently unrelated news, petrified stone rats have been found in the Port Royale Sewers, and some employees of the Sanitation Department have spoken of spotting a talking, spiny, six-legged lizard-thing with sharp, pointy teeth wearing spectacles and shouting, "ONWARRRD ANNNNND UPWARRRRD!" |
