A Masquerade in Port Royale Posted: 12 Jan 2006 03:54 PM |
A few, well dressed men, stand outside of Aquinas' Palace in Port Royale. They carry a number of small silk bags that appear in a rectangle shape. The men will stop to talk to anyone who passes by about such things as the state of Port Royale outside of the plaza and the ongoings in Midor. Before the conversation concludes the men will hand over a letter from the silk bags only if the person they are talking to is well dressed and polite.
The note is sealed with the insignia of the Port Royale Palace and reads as follows:
To whom it may concern:
You are coordinately invited to attend the Soiree preceding the Coming of Age ceremony for the daughter of Queen Aquinas, which will be held in the Glass House of the Port Royale Botanical Gardens. She has requested the night be a Masquerade, so you should dress appropriately.
The Masquerade starts at 8:00 p.m. on the night of two fortnights from this letter. Please RSVP at the Palace.

| ((I don’t have an exact date yet, but sometime mid Feb. Also, please keep in mind who gets the letters. I think it is easy to follow who would get them so don’t exploit this please.)) |

Several of the invitations were hand delivered by the Queen herself to a select few places while she was escorted by two men, a Royal Palace guard and Keriks, the captain of the Port Royale guard. Rumors suggest she visited a number of noble houses including the Vanderzee Estate, the Malagar Estate and even outside the city to the Seven Sisters.
Also, a few of the socialites who regularly spend their time in Port Royale, such as Lady Macha, Lady Juylina, and to a lesser degree, Daimon Rabianara, we given personal letters as well. Rumors also mentioned that Macha had prior knowledge about the party and the invitation was a mere formality.
A few days later, news leaked from the Vanderzee Estate about a major announcement and gift to be given to the Queen’s daughter at the party. The news was vague but rumors suggest it has something to do with the Seven Sisters. |

A few days later, a drunken dwarf stumbles out of the Black Pearl, a few flagons of ale crushing against the wall beside him, and he curses considerably. He stumbles down the alley leaning up against the wall for support, the world spinning around him.
"Got t'find me a wastebin..." he murmers, a hand going reflexively to his stomach.
BLEEEARGH! The sickening sound splashes into the barrel, causing the wet, drunk, and smelly dwarven fighter, Bognar, to fall back, muttering curses to any who would wander by. As he struggles up to a stand, something catches his attention.
Peering back into the wastebin, his grubby fingers reach inside and retrieve a nicely folded (if not now very soggy) piece of paper. Wiping off the grime, he unfolds it, reading it carefully.
"Fancy party, eh?" he snorts, and wads the invitation up, sticking it into a dirty pocket.
"Think I'll go." |

A few things to note:
Due to only getting lore written up today, the Masquerade is the same day as Oscurità at the Princess' request. This is fairly common knowledge.
During the event, ignore the IG clock, as the event will be in real time. |
