Lore: Port Royale: Oscurità

This is the name of a festival in Port Royale, which happens soon after the New Year. The day begins with a solar eclipse over Port Royale and remains so for the day until it moves into a lunar eclipse during dusk. No one has ever been able to explain this occurrence but a number have become proficent in predicting the date. This can be seen from other places around Vives, but it is concentrated on Port Royale.
This is a day of great celebration in Port Royale. Usually, the shops all close during the day and performers (think bards, shadowdancers, shadow magicians) fill the street and most everyone dresses up in various ‘dark-style’ costumes during the day (think along the lines of Day of the Dead/Dia de Muertos). During the night, the palace often put on a grand event for the whole city in the Noble Part of town. |
