If I had any advice to give you, it's to ask your doctor how to maintain a high metabolism while you're basically completely immobile, if it's even possible. When I broke my leg I was basically inactive (or at the very least, far LESS active) for about two years, and I gained about sixty pounds because my body stopped processing nutrients quite as quickly.
