The Amazing Adventures of Kilkis the Elven Ranger

One day a human adventurer got lost in the forests. Kilkis spotted the human and knew that the adventurer was lost. He decided to reveal himself and to talk to the human.
Kilkis: "Hello there adventurer, are you lost?"
Adventurer: "W-what? Where did you come from?"
"Have no fear human, I am a ranger of the forest, and I can guide you out with ease."
The confused human then replied, "A-alright..."
So Kilkis and the human adventurer set out on adventure to find their way out of the forests. They traveled for hours, occasionally killing a snake or two, or other small vermin. Kilkis' face was confused and lost as always but determined. The human was beginning to doubt in the elf's ability to lead them out of the forest. Just as all hope seemed lost, a roar that sounded like a wild cat came from the forest, and not too far away either.
Adventuer: "W-what was that?"
Kilkis: "A wild cat!" He quickly kneeled down to examine some tracks... "Broken twigs... two set of tracks... a human, and an elf... but no wild cat..." He moves around to examine more of the tracks. "From the looks of their tracks it seems that they are lost as well. Maybe if they had a skilled elven ranger like myself, they would be out of the forest already. Come on, lets get moving."
The adventurer asked in a nervous tone while holding his sword shaking,"B-but what should we do if we see a wild cat?!"
"Well, from what I know about wild cats. They like to sneak around until they get close enough to their victims. They don't show up until it's too late, and they go straight for the throat, killing their prey in an instant! But don't worry, we'll be out of here before you can say..." Suddenly a black panther jumped out of nowhere and lunged it's sharp teeth at Kilkis' throat. "...Arrgh!!"
The adventurer dropped his sword in terror and ran screaming as the panther tackled his prey to the ground and the screams of Kilkis could be heard.
