My retirement and giveaway of rare items. Posted: 26 Feb 2005 03:23 PM |
That oughta lure you in so anyway, a tired question just out of curiousity, are you a female or a male IRL? It makes me wonder if more guys play this game then girls, or vice versa. |

| Male IRL and male IG however, I have many friends who play females and they are males. One of them is so good at it I noone had ever figured it out in EQ until he told them. He is an outstanding RPer and a great guy, and he is married! hahahahaha |

I wouldn't take your items anyway :P
I find that NWN has a much larger female popluation then any other game...well that I've played. I can imange that the Sims might as well. |

guy playing a guy here, always played guys, always will. I'll admit I used to have a problem with guys that played girls, especialy in the EQ setting where they preyed on guys to give them stuff by showing a little leg or cleavage Here in Vives things seem different somehow tho. It's like we're putting on a play for the DM's and other players that come along. as long as a girl can rp a guy well and visa versa, I say go for it I've met very few characters in Vives that aren't well rp'd, to be honest I probably won't check this string again, cus IG it really dosn't matter :) |

| Female IRL, playing three different female characters. It does make it kind of fun IG trying to guess if the female characters are male or female IRL :) |

| Well, suprisingly, it seems that many of the people that don't know me that well think I'm a girl, but most of the people that knew me from roughly a year ago know I'm a guy. Guy in real life, play both sexes to be honest. Tasra is the name I use for forums and IRC because it's the first character I played here. I don't really care which sex I play, I just try to come up with the most interesting character concept I can, and see which fits it better. |

Where's all the rare items!
Ohh.. that's not what this thread is about, eh? I'm a man, and proud of it. My characters are also male. If someone wants to play the opposite sex, I say good on ya, exploration is good. |

I'm a bloke, and I play both male and female PCs.
I mostly play female PCs in NWN because the male PC models are just so horrid looking. In other mediums, I play far more men than women. Especially PnP. Only ever males in PnP (Excepting one occasion involving a rather unfortunate curse and my formerly male cleric of Sune...)

| We were just talking about Sune in our PnP session this morning... We decided Eyes of the Eagle with a high-powered telescope might be good enough to see Sune taking a bath! Only thing is, it'd be hard to explain the deaths of the scientists... But what a way to go! |

yep, i'm a guy. I have two male characters and three female characters. I think what gives me the urge to play the fairer sex is trying to understand the way they function. Admittedly I think it is a fools errand as we shall never truly understand the innerworkings of such amazing creatures, however it is our task and duty to learn as much as is possible, that we might better survive the coming days. Yeah... uhm... I played a male (Calmeir) exclusively for likely around 8-9 months... I think that counts for something toward my manly pride! hehe... ok. done now. |

I've always played guys in my 5 years of RPGing until a few months ago.. Lysse was my first female ever.. It hink....
I just always liked playing guys more.... I don't like the idea of a bunch of guys playing female characters and making total ditzes out of them. |

Let me get this straight. You want to get to know women....
.... and you achieve this by roleplaying online.
Is it any wonder us RPers have the reps we do.

I'm a guy and all my characters are guys. Nothing against men playing women characters, but my wife already thinks I'm strange for playing NWN to begin with and I don't need to give her any more ammunition...
I knew many guys that played female characters in EQ because lets face it guys playing EQ will give everything they own away to a flirty female character, but if your a male character they won't even give you a rusty dagger. |

Hmm , i think i'm just way too blokey to play a lass . Ive tried but just end up being a total tart at the expense of all else.
Perhaps i could manage a bearded dwarf barmaid with a drink problem.

I've been playing RPGs for 16 years now, and I've played ONE female in my life. Was in a Star Wars PnP campaign. Vanna Darknova.
Now that this discussion has opened up, I've realized this huge bias on my part. I am not quite sure why this is, however, it may have something to do with a fundamental truth of the universe:
Women are like parking spaces. All the good ones are taken... And what's left are handicapped.

Okay, I'll bite (finally)...
I'm a girl. I play mostly girls. I've played at least one male character but...well, I like being a girl.
So far as guys playing girls, my SO (yes, male) usually plays female chars on RPGs (Bronwyn and Kaya on Vives). I don't know why...never bothered to ask.
and that is my undoubtedly invaluable contribution ;) |

Oh, and I'm a male.
My choice is usually dependant on:
1. The portrait I can find that fits my concept (more female ones then male ones so I usually play female) 2. If I am confined to only one gender (i.e. Cleric of Naruth) |

Guy here...I play like 80% males and 20% females...just to mix it up. I usually (in the past) have kinda RP'd as if they females were my wife...because I know there is no chance of me actually portraying a female realistically.
For IG, as long as the character seems real...or is believable...that is what matters. I do get tired of watching huskey males walk around for an entire game when I play as them... |
