Re: Trapping 1/13/2004 4:12:57 AM   (Total replies: 1)
If you know me im a man of simple answers. Killing a rat with a sword gets you XP, killing a rat with a trap should as well. They are both weapons and you have killed the monster havent you? Shouldnt outsmarting a monster be it by swordskills or by trapping make you get better at said act? They skill itself "meh" you advance in it through skill points so why give xp? Plain and simple however a trap and a sword are both tools to kill a monster and should equally give XP for either. To not ...

I dont think you should start at level 3. I mean why bother? Leveling isnt that hard in vives you just cant do it alone when your weak. What the problem is is that their arnt enough people on the server yet to always have a party member. So the ebst solution is simply more quests/lowb areas, possibly ones that the lowb can do alone. Granted this mod is beta so its not the meat and potatoes but i dont wanna see a server like dysntopia where you start at level 5 without doing a lick of work. ...

OMFG ITS SYLVAN! yeah thats right its me. well, somewhere in this thread im to lazy to quote the post someone said that many notions of racism are based off other worlds not vives. Well a few people old enough to remember (I being one of them) can describe quite clearly the brutish attack of ferein by the half-orcs killing a beloved elf and causing much grief. Sylvan remembers it will for he still cherishes the ring of the fallen elf. Basically this DM quest run by I forget who ...

Well, it appears due to actions condemnable by the vives administration my account has been placed on suspention for an idefinate period of time as of yet. I would like to say altough if I am not allowed to return to vives I had alot of fun RPing with just about everyone and will miss you. I would also like that my actions and others which I may not have done be used as an example to other players so that they do not end up as me. So thus far here is a list of general rules and ...

For one the reasons I posted a list of things I may have done or not was because at the time I did not have the list. I wasnt trying to turn anyone against anyone if you read my post I merely posted it to use myself as an example sense I was the first one to get punished like this. To say I did it merely to turn players against DMs is putting words in my mouth and that -was not- my intention in posting this. I merely wanted to make it known that I was suspended and list behaviour that will ...

an extended rest time directly makes clerics at an advantage because they can do far more batteling/exploring then any other class begin they are very "regenerative". Anyhow me and the rob, pugs, and Q discussed the best possible answer we saw from experience actually playing the charectors. Basically reducing rest time does not fix several issues such as spell stocking, and lack of risk. It is my advice to test this "fix" and see if it works.

However, we do have information on what specific spell was casted by a particular caster. Hence one of the possible solution is to add a timer on top of the spell-experience code, possibly related to the number of times it was casted. For example, after you casted Treeshape (and received experience for the learning process), you can continue to cast the spell, but you'll no longer receive an experience reward for say, 4 RL hours, after which the natural progression (reward+declination) can ...

Well, I checked as others have with my sorceror and the problem seems to be the XP system simply isn't registering the XP trigger, casting spells is similiar to casting them in SP as in you don't even get a message saying o XP.

Or perhaps the old trusted interactive archery target which depending on a dex check will strike various targets thus making you able to compete in achery events. Also alot more things like gambling... magic shows... you know stat dependant stuff that will let you pare up against other npcs for a little ole competition... sure beats the heck outta pointless dueling. Also when the hell is the theatre in midor going to have its damn show?

*a man returns to midor after a long and tiresome journy, his wounds bleeding but his main concern is the pain he carries in his heart. He steps into the temple to rest his tired soul but his mind wanders and he finds himself talking to a man long lost.* "Father, I have survived yet another journy... It seems death dare not touch me no matter how much I laugh in his face. Perhaps father, perhaps it is your hand still guiding me... or perhaps I have just retained some of your ...
