1.Fond memories.
Posted by rjderouin on 7/7/2009 9:12:37 PM
I have fond memories of this world from about four years ago when my ability to role play was ham stringed by being a teenager and in high school so of course my characters were lame and overdone. However I have since returned to the online gaming scene and I wonder if any one still plays after the release of Neverwinter Nights 2?

I have three, if I understand dump stats correctly. Though maybe only two since I brought my Orc from six INT to eight.

4.Elemental Spell Slinger
Posted by rjderouin on 4/1/2007 3:54:28 PM
After reading all the posts in the Magic thread I have suddenly found myself hankering to play a spell slinger type character.

I don't want to be a buff bot, in fact I don't want to use buffs at all. I want my character to act like a Magic Archer, slinging elemental and lesser used magic attacks into the forefront.

Normally I don't play a Sorcerer or Wizard or any mage class for that matter so I am a bit concerned?

Will I die every ten minutes and be incapable ...

I began the character.

A half orc Sorcerer named Vornak Uk'Tahl.

The baby levels will be quite interesting I think.

Difficult yes, but it will pay off.

7.Status of Vives One?
Posted by rjderouin on 3/17/2007 11:55:14 AM
Hello, I played on this server a very long while back (rather childishly) and out of all the servers I have played this one was always the most stable.

I hear that you are switching over to Neverwinter Nights 2, which is great, for some. But for those without certain computers, well we dread the coming of the sequel.

I wonder, is Vives One still vibrant and alive with players? Or will I be lucky to see a player a day?

Also, when is the change over to ...
8.Fire of Freedom

Small Talk Gossip from Port Royale, no real big news, just things people pass around.

A rather shaggy looking man has been seen around the slums of Port Royale and even in the Plaza, preaching against the Queen and Jessup, who he calls nothing but a common thug. The man has a full beard and rather knotty hair. He talks about the slums of Port Royale and freeing the people of the "oppressive grasp" of thugs like Jessup and Noble Biddy's like the queen.

"See now, if you can light that candle from ten paces away you'll pass Apprentice Krown."

He concentrated. His left hand was wrapped tightly into a fist, his nails digging into flesh drawing blood, his other hand was out stretched towards the candle a few yards away, yearning for it.

"Come now boy, I could set this whole building on fire from a hundred yards away."

His mind left his body, his essence was upon the candle itself, the dull ...
11.Changeling.
Posted by rjderouin on 7/21/2007 5:18:07 PM
It awoke to the sound of running water, it's back was broken, its head was swimming in its own blood. The earth rumbled gently, the ground vibrated, it looked around and saw, the dirt, the ceiling, and the walls were covered in birds. He was laying, laying on birds. Their were thousands of them, all completely silent, vibrating, watching him, beckoning him. They were Sparrows.

It pulled itself up, the carpet of Sparrow's fluttered away in all directions. It's eyes watered and ...

Deep within the heart of Port Royale, the changeling slept, he slept alot... Whenever he woke he would find Sparrow feathers then he would drift back into unconsciousness. And whenever he slept, he would also become hungry.

His habits of eating changed with what ever formed he took, when he lived in the wolf he lusted to the flesh of deer, when he took habit in the Gargoyle he ate rocks and when he was the Harpy, he ate man.

In the alley's and dark corners of the slums he ...

Lumps, lumps were the order of the day. Perhaps it was planets aligning, or the sun setting, but lumps began to form all over its body. They bulged and buckled, popped and blistered, evaporated and disappeared. No matter what form he took it occurred, it was almost as if his soul, his spirit, his energy was releasing itself.

In an alley he began to explode outward, his head grew to the size of a watermelon then returned to normal, his back opened up and then closed, green light ...
14.((Low Level Adventuring Group))
Posted by rjderouin on 1/1/2008 9:29:21 PM
((This entire post and all responses should be OOC.))

Alright, so how about we try and make a low level adventuring group for dealing with all the mundane problems around Vives?

We got enough people dealing with Demons and Hell, underworlds and Liches. Why not make a group who's soul purpose is to go after a bunch of bandits? Exorcise the minor ghosts of Carfax? Run rampant on the Kobolds and Goblins?

I am wondering if their is interest for a few low level ...

Well, don't get me wrong. I love Vives.

I just sometimes find it hard to Role-Play any kind of non magical character when it is compeletly normal to see, dragons just outside the gates of buckshire, fiery swords of killingtude and such.

I mean, what is my character suppossed to say to that?

PS

I have seen a dragon just outside of Buckshire, everyone just sorta accepted it. Probably was Balthor.

If I remember, my character pissed his pants and hid in a corner. My character was not a coward either.

Not so much... Like... The mystery and evil of Carfax is lost because... Well, who cares? Everyone has seen a hundred ghosts.

Clearing giant beetles from a cave? Done it before.

Spooky Blood Woods? Lame!

All I am saying, its a little odd that so many super magical things occur so close to civilization. LIke... If carfax was moved deep into the woods, a bandit camp between the two. So it was like an expedition to get there.

I don't know...

I ...

Well giving cool things to non casters will help with high magic levels because more people will play mundane classes.

Well thats another thing, True Sight. Rogues being able to really be rogues would be nice, but at the moment they really can't do any robbing really... They are just sort of sneak attackers.
