1.Re: The Deserts
Posted by Theoclymenus on 8/8/2007 9:38:40 PM
I think I will make myself another jug of coffee - I am gathering Ashe useful items at the moment so hopefully he will actually make a difference in the upcoming battle (I'd love to see a one on one between him and the Avatar, that would be amusing)

((Be careful what you wish for...))

I just KNEW the next post would be something along these lines... Ah well.

And help... Henesua is mothering me!

If I can get Neverwinter Nights working properly on this computer, there might be a surprise visit from Ashe.

Right, to clear this up. For Greenwich Meant Time (UTC) this works out as 4am doesn't it?

dang, I'm going to need a lot of coffee!

I've got to say, the thing in Fiirhallen was awesome. I was hugely surprised when all the gang turned up after I was brought there as a guest with Alyssa. It was all perfect...

Haha! Yes, that was hilarious, I don't know what Traven made of it but I hope Ashe is now a little more menacing to him.

Totally screwed... And Ashe isn't going to help...

Yeah, it was great regardless of the technical difficulties.

Two great moments though:
When I was into the ice cavern to speak with Aurora and an ice statue bellowed SPEAK LYLE ASHE, nearly giving me a heart attack.
Managing to use the lag to my advantage and grabbing the treasure out of the coffin before vanishing and running away. (In the crash I lost the treasure though, a great misfortune.)

Tonight?! I think I will have an early night instead of staying up this time. But Ashe will be there (and sinister looking, with his new kinky whip and pair of kamas).

Edit: Bugger... or maybe it was last night. Where have I been?!
10.Re: You Got Problems? I Got Solutions. (or Suggestions anyway)

Well, as a mid level non-epic character Ashe is more powerful than many his level would be (dang the temptations of power building). However, as I played Vives I found that it was almost essential to make a build like this in order to survive with the higher level people.

When it comes to being killed over and over again by uber creatures, it bothered me briefly until I sort of ended up with a roleplay reason for Ashe surviving (The whole soul being elsewhere thing). I enjoy the ...

I presume when you say program a whole chess game you mean the AI as the mechanics are already there. Ashe played a game against a character called Saana and was butchered (8 wisdom all the way!).

Wait, not Saana... someone with a similar name.

Posted by Theoclymenus on 8/8/2007 8:19:03 PM
Ashe sat silently in the Lover's Retreat, guarenteed not to be interrupted. He had arranged all his weapons and trinkets out in front of him and was debating how the collection could be improved. On the table were: His ice dagger, a shortsword that put things to sleep, a kama he was trying to find a matching pair of, a whip, his bow, a sling, arrows and bullets of various enchantments, a few throwing spears, a firebomb (he wanted more of this but had used his penultimate one fighting off an ...

*The following is scrawled on a piece of paper folded up on Ashe's person. His handwriting is average and of little interest.*

----------
Aims:
Learn whatever the dragons speak
Get my soul back, and hopefully manage to put it somewhere safe (an amulet?)
By the Harp and learn to activate it
Control the shadows... all the shadows
----------

Ashe folded away and put the paper in his chest pocket, having things to aim for kept dark thoughts from ...
15.Ashes To Ashes - Searching For A Heart
Posted by Theoclymenus on 7/7/2007 5:06:51 PM
Ashe wandered around Undercity like a lost soul, slowly gravitating towards Nethar'u. In thinking about it, Ashe decided that he was a lost soul, or rather he had lost his. He wasn't exactly sure how he felt about that, he certainly didn't have any hatred to those who had done it to him but at the same time had no thanks. He just didn't have anything.

As he walked the short distance to hop on the boat Ashe decided to himself that he probably should feel angry about what had happened, ...
16.Ashes To Ashes - Searching For A Heart
Posted by Theoclymenus on 7/11/2007 7:32:50 PM
Ashe awoke at the top of the stairs, smelling of smoke and slightly singed. He blankly cursed his slumber in such a location, shook himself off and walked out, avoiding oozes in the mines. Might as well check to see if Kalid is still around... he thought to himself as he pushed open the door to the Hall. Kalid wasn't in sight - although the signs of her habitation were still visible. She was definatly still about. Ashe wandered into the crypt room, as calm and silent as the bodies in ...
17.Ashes To Ashes - Searching For A Heart
Posted by Theoclymenus on 7/18/2007 11:46:17 AM
The last few days had been... eventful. Ashe paused and wondered whether that was the best way to describe it. He couldn't pin an emotion on it but decided that excitement would probably suit it.

It had started when he had bumped into Buck on his way to hunt lions and dig sand. They changed that plan and instead went hunting and exploring, making a good team. After clearing out all of Buckshire's ruins and caves and places, they had headed out into the desert repeating the process ...
18.Ashes To Ashes
Posted by Theoclymenus on 7/5/2007 10:16:54 AM
((This thread is for a few things concerning Lyle Ashe, a more detailed description of him I can update whenever his appearance changes, a bios of his rough stats (so people can point out if I am roleplaying him correctly and it may serve as a diary if Ashe decides to write anything down.))

Appearance:
Lyle Ashe is a relatively average sized and looking hin - he certainly isn't ugly, but his manner means that people are often put off him slightly - has little from a ...

Ashe payed the innkeeper enough gold for the use of his room for a whole month. Not for himself but for Lea, the hin girl who currently used his bed. Sure... Ashe used the chest for anything he didn't want to carry in person but he rarely slept in the bed.

Lea wasn't in so he left a note on the pillow.

Lea,
I have left for a while, I want to explore more of the lands and spend some time away from Port. I also have someone looking for me that I hope to find. I have ...

This... worries me somewhat.

However, some good news. Scar can talk so he /should/ count as a magical creature, getting a higher DC for animal empathy.

It's about time someone went out and crushed all the elves. Why not get the Atalan on our side and then send them in first until they have all died. Kill two birds with one stone.

23.An update on where I am
Posted by Theoclymenus on 10/12/2007 5:34:58 AM
As people may have noticed, Ashe hasn't appeared on Vives in quite a while. I thought I would explain why and what I am going to do.

I have just started university, studying Physics and there have been several problems with accomodation. I am currently living in an apartment 12 miles away without the internet or a phone - almost completly incommunicado. Because of this I can't get my laptop online unless I am at the university where the network settings wont let me play games.

Ashe, on his first walk through civilised territory in a few weeks, notices one of these signs and takes it all in. He remains silent though.

Ashe might show his face if I work out what to do about sleep. He is a little... feral at the moment, he hasn't spoken to another person in quite a while.
