Arawen sent you a PM with details :)
2.Re: UMD scale is skewed

I dont think these changes will increase the number of clerics because even if melee classes cant read scrolls to cure themselves, potions are plentiful. AFAIK, an antidote potion, not only can cure poison, it can also remove ability penalty and remove disease.
3.Re: Lag Death
Posted by MrPink on 11/4/2004 6:20:27 PM
Ok I figured this "incident" would cause some writing in the forums so here goes my 2 cents:

I was in the party and I died, although I did manage to get out of the temple. I died partly due to lag but I don't think that matters, nobody should complain about that. It's part of this game, sometimes the lag is in your favor, sometimes not. I suck it up so to speak :)

About the spawns; I don't think any monsters that the DMs can spawn are actually "wrong". ...
4.Re: Item guidelines

the only problem with setting a fixed limit on things is that they don't scale. While setting a limit to +3 on weapons is fine (because at least AB increases at epic levels), it's a much bigger problem with e.g. armor class since that does not (in general) increase. I find it a problem when you might as well be fighting in your underwear than wear your armor, having armor protection should always be useful and potentially make a difference....
5.Bug with the barter window
Posted by MrPink on 6/21/2004 10:31:50 AM
Don't know of a good place to post this so I'll just put it here. I was in the OOC players lounge today and was going to show a few things to a friend. I opened up the barter window and put the things there, and I found that after about 1 minutes time the items started to disappear one at a time. First I thought it was a DM prank, but I (and the other guy) put some other things there and they also disappeared (no they did not go to the inventory, simply just disappeared). I don't know if this ...

I see.. well it would be nice if there was a sign warning people about this since its a pretty major thing to loose your items...

Bioware has responded to this issue a few times in the official forums, because (like stated) it changes game balance quite drastically. They are not going to change the way this feat works (in any near future) since it is implemented exactly by the book.

well that's kind of the point, they are saying that they rather spend "zots" fixing/improving stuff which is not by the book rather than changing stuff which is.

But... Didn't I just say if PC's don't get it I won't give it to monsters either?

Same reason I don't equip NPC's w/ gear that players aren't supposed to have.

I agree, fair is fair.

I've seen several NPC guards with true seeing, why do they have that (permanently) when PCs cant have it?

(sorry for changing the topic of this thread)

I too agree on that (most) guards instead should have spot/listen skill instead. Or maybe rather (as many servers do it), make true seeing give +10 to listen and spot. That would bring back the worth in those skills, right now they are considered near worthless. That would mean there would be SOME chance in being able to sneak away. Some guards that are considered to be unpassable could have epic proportions in listen/spot skill.

Ok... what problem with people sneaking past monsters and taking treasure? Isnt that one of the things sneak is for?

The problem is the abuse (read Figleafs post)....

About dev crit, if leaving it in means monsters would get it, then I'd vote for not allowing it :)

I disagree also .. if rogues cant sneak .. what next? clerics that cant heal? fighters that cant carry swords? .. Its what rogues do. -get over it-. perhaps we can have boats that dont sail to, doors that dont open....

No, you and your friends are not reading it right. There's a difference between sneaking and abusing. I wont go into more detail than that if you are not aware of how it can be abused, well then good for you.
13.Re: Devastating Critical
Posted by MrPink on 6/4/2004 12:33:18 AM
.... Is there not a single person that is aware of the fact that Devastating critical takes 25 strength to acquire? 25 BASE strength........ That means if you're a half orc... who takes 20 strength at start (Kills all other stats) you have to take every point in strength just to have 25 strength at level 20... which makes it.... what.. a half orc feat?

I hate to get into details, but even a poor 14 str halfling could achieve and actually obtain ...
14.Dead with no respawn...
Posted by MrPink on 5/16/2004 7:49:00 AM
Hello,

Sorry if this is a stupid question I haven't been able to find an answer to it. I started playing on this server yesterday so I don't know so much about it yet. I happened to die in a forest when I was caught by surprise by some pixies and some witch. I have no respawn option or anything, the only options are "load game" and "exit game". I read in some posts that it would be possible to respawn but how, I can't seem to do that? Is there a chance that my ...

17.Re: The Tears Event
Posted by MrPink on 11/1/2004 12:31:32 PM
I just also want to thank the crew for the good event. Great timing to put it out there with all the undead and such on halloween, I was quite surprised when I entered the server :)

I also think it was great that you posted on the forums here many days in advance since it allowed me to schedule in the event and show up, good for those of us that cant spend so much time IG to find out about these events.

Thanks again,
MrPink aka Arawen

as some people may know by now I'm a sword freak too. I wont be begging for any new swords to put in-game, what I will be begging for though is that new models of weapons will be put in. That way we could get alot more customization to the world (new weapon models can be reached by using the craft weapon menu).

Here are some REALLY nice greatswords model (and a few models of other weapons). If any of these would make it in I would be a very happy man

Fact is, at p[resent, you're more likely to find something better than the best things you can create.

Why not decrease the chance of finding really powerful items then so that they would be truly rare. And instead make the "average good" items come from crafting... that should bring some interest into crafting...
21.Re: Adventure groups
Posted by MrPink on 8/31/2004 11:25:29 AM
maybe a solution to the problem would be to keep track of the experience awarded similar to how you guys keep track of how much experience points one has gained from picking locks. Let's say you can gain 5000 points in total from picking locks, then maybe it would be suitable to put a pool on every monster as well, like 1000 or 2000 points. That way characters could still gain (good) experience points from a high level monster when they are strong enough, even if they have been fighting it for ...
