| 2. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Llewen on 7/14/2013 1:24:23 AM Just dropping by and saying hello. It has been a long time. I've actually been thinking of Vives because I've been playing Neverwinter (online) a fair bit lately. Vives was/is better, but Neverwinter takes less commitment. :) |
| 3. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Llewen on 11/23/2004 9:07:53 AM There are so many here who have made my first two months on Vives a truly addictive experience that if I tried to list them all I'd be sure to miss someone important, but I'll try anyway:
Eliana for being the first real RP for me on Vives. Eerel for being a great buddy and keeping Glordong alive... most of the time... Trent for being an exasperating paladin Zach for being a rogue that acts like an exasperating paladin, and for the great sword, my first or second real ... |
| 4. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Llewen on 12/21/2004 6:37:32 PM To Carlton for the character of Sara. She was a beautiful character, beautifully played, and I am going to miss her...
Truly one of the funniest things I have ever seen in roleplaying was Luther giving Sara a spanking, and her perfect reactions to it. . |
| 5. | Re: Vives Personals Posted by Llewen on 11/22/2004 7:02:32 PM Glordong is a huge half-orc that is full of contradictions. He is shy and easily embarrassed, but at times can be playful and outgoing. He doesn't speak well, but he will occassionally share his mother's beautiful poetry. He can be a terrible coward, and has on occassion been known to foul his armour in fear, but he has been known to walk straight into the mouth of Death itself without flinching. He is a crafty merchant, who loves buying and selling and haggling the best possible ... |

| 7. | Re: New Vives Screenshots Posted by Llewen on 10/9/2004 7:46:12 PM Why can't I see the screenshots? :( |
| 8. | Re: New Vives Screenshots Posted by Llewen on 10/10/2004 2:47:40 PM The problem is that these forums etc. are written in ASP I believe. Which is only fully supported by Internet Explorer, as it is a Microsoft product. |
| 9. | Re: New Vives Screenshots Posted by Llewen on 11/4/2004 4:05:29 PM You must have one heck of a video card Calmeir... |
| 10. | Re: New Vives Screenshots Posted by Llewen on 11/4/2004 6:20:14 PM Well if you look at his screen shots, all the edges are perfectly smooth, and the overall quality of the picture is superb. I think that is because he has an excellent video card (AA etc. on). |
| 11. | Re: Crash and Burn! Posted by Llewen on 10/22/2004 6:29:52 AM Obviously you haven't lived until you've died with Pickston and Jessup... or at the very least you haven't properly died... stuck in a meat grinder bit by bit then spread out on a very large piece of toast...
I'd like to add something relevant and meaningful to this thread but I can see that all my deaths have been on the mundane, to boring, to downright pathetic side...

| 12. | Re: Crash and Burn! Posted by Llewen on 10/22/2004 7:20:07 AM PS Barry Manilow had nothing to do with the macarena.
I'm quite sure that Barry Manilow had something to do with the macarena... I he didn't, I am sure he will have at some point... |
| 13. | Re: Crash and Burn! Posted by Llewen on 1/1/2005 4:24:46 AM Congratulations WA! . |
| 14. | Re: Crash and Burn! Posted by Llewen on 1/1/2005 5:57:53 AM Some day I'm going to start a support group... We'll call it the KNA Support Fellowship: KNA - "Killed Near Arcane"...
I was thinking KBA - "Killed By Arcane" but he's a good guy, he doesn't actually kill his companions. KFA - "Killed Following Arcane" would be a bit better, but, as Alton so aptly demonstrated, you don't need to be actually "following" Arcane to fall victim to HDAD - "Horrific Death and Dismemberment". It is ... |

| 16. | Re: A fond farewell Posted by Llewen on 2/7/2005 4:18:34 PM I second and third all the nice thoughts here, and I'll add my own. Don't go get sucked into WoW or anything... .
Seriously, both of you will be very much missed, but I understand having to take a break, for any one of a thousand reasons. Here's hoping you find your way back in a month or two with loads of fresh ideas and energy. And if you never do make it back, it was a pleasure spending the ... |
| 17. | Re: A fond farewell Posted by Llewen on 2/12/2005 1:52:31 PM I haven't gotten sucked into WoW... yet... Just sucked into working on my clan's server and website. Check out what I've done here:
www.crazy-canucks.tk
I realize it is completely antithetical to RP'ing, but I am a man of wide interests... Seriously though, I used to hate FPS's (first person shooters) but a friend sucked me into gaming with him every Friday night, the server sucked, so I offered to host, and things just ... |
| 18. | Re: A fond farewell Posted by Llewen on 2/12/2005 2:33:44 PM World of Warcraft. From everthing I have seen it is supposed to be the best MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) created thus far.
And thanks for the kind words on the website. . I must admit I've put alot of work into it... |
| 19. | Re: ***Character Vault Wipe*** Posted by Llewen on 4/2/2005 9:18:07 AM I'm sorry I missed all the fun. .
I host games for a bunch of friends every Friday and Saturday night - not NWN, just Half-Life mods. We run six different mods and every Thursday I put up a poll and we decide what we are going to run Friday night, likewise Saturday morning. Here is what I posted Thursday night. My name in the clan is Drek.

| 20. | Re: ***Character Vault Wipe*** Posted by Llewen on 4/2/2005 10:16:01 AM Heh, poll only runs for two days generally and I didn't put up the vote as normal when I posted. I didn't want it to run so long it'd spoil the vote. . Still managed to give a couple of the guys a jump start...
I met Frank when I volunteered to help him with beta testing and whatnot for Marine Bot when it was just for Firearms. I'm no longer working on Marine Bot but we've become great friends ... |
| 21. | Re: Sol's Storyteller of the Month(s) Feb & March Posted by Llewen on 3/19/2005 5:35:26 PM I'll try and submit something... hopefully it will be better than my attempt a limerick... No promises though, been a very long time since I've written any script... |
| 22. | Re: New Banner Posted by Llewen on 3/24/2005 1:29:13 PM Fits the colour theme perfectly and is very classy. :). |
| 23. | Re: New Banner Posted by Llewen on 1/26/2005 7:01:29 PM I noticed the balance between good and evil in the banner. I didn't catch the resonance with the earlier banner because I'm afraid it never really impressed me enough for me to remember it. In spite of what I said, I don't really mind the girl on the left all that much because that kind of wholesome cleanliness with tatoos is part of Vives as well, just look at some of the portraits people have chosen, or the way they play their characters; we're not all tortured goths.
|
| 24. | Re: New Banner Posted by Llewen on 1/25/2005 6:52:49 PM I'm in a bit of a bad mood today, so I might as well weigh in here with a little more... balanced perspective...
The banner looks amazing, and yes it doesn't fit the colour scheme of the website, and it would be cool if the website's colour scheme did match it.
However, I don't much like the cute happy girl on the left, I mean she's pretty and all, but she doesn't match the rest of the banner, I'm not so keen on the shadowy figure on the right either, I think something ... |
| 25. | Re: New Banner Posted by Llewen on 1/26/2005 8:29:18 AM Cheers Orange. Thanks for taking my critique in the spirit it was intended. I am a write/actor/singer, and I have many friends involved in the arts in one way or another and we all take great delight in ripping each other's work to shreds. I think we do it in as kind a way as possible, but the whole process generally helps us all, both the critiques, and the critiqued.
As for that specific banner, if you can't get rid of the figure on the right, you probably need to keep the ... |
