1.Re: How to connect via. mIRC to our chatrooms

Just an addendum for those that want to register with NickServ:

*These instructions should work in any IRC client*

First you have to register with Nickserv (This only needs to be done once)

type the following replacing nick and password with the appropriate info:

/ns register nick password

You will now be registered with NickServ, however, ...

Hashmark seems to be having a bunch of glitches today. There was a moment there, nearly five minutes, when I couldn't connect at all!

Anyways, another IP address you can try to connect with if irc.hashmark.net isn't working is irc.aau.cx.

There are several portraits posted on this link here.

But this is a better thread to consolidate them. Thanks Narenia.

And if you dont have winrar, you can get it here.

It kicks a$ over winzip as it will not only open .rar files, but .zip and .ace and many others as well. It also does a much better job at spanning, or making things smaller.

I happen to agree with Idwiz. I never really brought it up before, as wasnt ever really intrested in the woodworkings skill, since as a half-elf, she couldn't use bows. I think it would be nice for woodworking, to have a non-martial required axe, if its possible.

Also, I would have to dissagree with Calmeir regarding what a druid wouldn't do when it comes to chopping down a tree. Obviously, no Druid would condone the useless destruction of nature, if ...

It'd be great to have a run-through tutorial, like, a series of rooms with hypothetical creatures to kill, imaginary merchants to buy from, fictional landscape/common knowledge, theoretical looks of gods and idols... and what-not there, so the Vives-101 is somehow automated (or even better, have another set of areas where the Vives 101 is held regularly) It'd cut down the learning curve drastically.

Ahh yes, I remember that one. It was quite fun, even with that annoying, whiney Paladin.. what was his name now?

IIRC, there were about 5 of us. The Paladin, Erig, Finfalin, Shadoah, and some dwarf (I think it was Torg's dwarf). And there was a vampire at the end that did us all in after we did, eventually, and with great pains, defeat the Mummies. Level range was 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 or so. We did all make it out evenutally, thanks to some great RP on ...

You should see, in the top right corner of the mainpage, a link to your players application when you are logged in. You can follow that to fillout the application.

When you log in, the server grabs the hashed CD key (thats your cd key sent through an algorithm to make it so it is impossible to figure out your real CD key, yet produce a unique identifier for your copy of the game). This gets stored in our login database and enables us to automatically boot people that havn't applied and have been in game more then the ten hour trial period.

If your getting that error, it just means you havn't logged in yet, it ...

Welcome Danariel,

Yes prestige classes are available here in Vives. Cant wait to meet you. Feel free to hop into IRC sometime to say hi to us all in there. Its a place where we can hang out and get to know each other as players as opposed to our characters. You can find info on getting there here.

*A note taked to the bulliten board in Midor*

Greetings friends,

I have heard many people wondering about the events that took place here and later in the dwarven caves a few days back. I wanted to convey a conversation that took place with myself, neek, the annoying child, and a fey in Midor during the course of events that had led most others involved momentarily away. I am posting these here by messenger as these events and others have ...

Just for the record, it also occurred in the Elven city rather than just in the Human and Dwarven capitals.

So why aren't there any Dark Halflings? *wanders off puzzled*

I wasn't aware (and Wendelyn certainly wasn't) She got pulled away from what she was doing and dropped right in the middle of both the Midor and Bregodim 'scuffles'.

*gives Ara an evil glare*

And halflings are too ...

I'm not entirely sure of the persistancy of the bulliten boards, and have been meaning to test it, though I havn't had a chance to play for awhile now. Any feedback on them would be appreciated as I'd love to see them actually used.

As to books, what Landru said. I know Aria has been racking her brains trying to discover some method to allow content such as these books to be added directly in game, or at least from the website, but without any luck ...

Please use this thread to post a little bit of public knowledge about your PC(s). As per Kree's post, this thread is for newcomers to get an idea of whom some of the characters are in Vives.

Keep them short and sweet, a few tidbits of information that your character would be willing to share publicly, or perhaps might be floating around as rumors. Lets try and keep them under say 10 lines. And ...

62. You've asked for an Ale at the bar

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been asking for an Ale at the bar since I've been old enough to be served. Though I suppose thats a byproduct of my brew of choice being called 'Traditional Ale'.

Below is a copy of the PM I recieved from Vindicta regarding his PC Scoopers, and his search for his best friend, the shovel. From talking with a few of you in IRC yesterday, I believe this is something we can go ahead with.

A shovel will need to be created, though I don't know if it will be useable as a weapon, equipable certainly, but I don't believe the 2da's provide it with any attack dice to cause any damage when used. I don't know if it would be ...
