Bug - My new character is crashing the server!

Hello.
My new character, Murray Boddyknock Coppersmith Bogglewheelington Jr. seems to crash the server every time I try to log in with him. |

| Right. After discovering this flaw, I reasoned that it may not be prudent to log in with him. I reported the incident shortly after. |

It would appear that the name limit is 50 characters. Yours is 51.
I've removed the character from the server vault. |

It would appear that the name limit is 50 characters. Yours is 51.
I've removed the character from the server vault.
Past the limit by one character, no pun intended, what are the odds of that? |

Hello.
My new character, Murray Boddyknock Coppersmith Bogglewheelington Jr. seems to crash the server every time I try to log in with him.
Grrr.... My GF's selected punishment was castration for my antics regarding a party lead into dangerous Goblin Chieftain territory where the server proceeded to crash roughly 5 times requiring 1.5 hours of diagnostics and strategizing how we'd get the party out, which I inadvertantly lead to their deaths. Thank you IMMENSELY DMs for taking over and letting me leave...
She didn't seem to understand how a game could be more important than bringing my truck to help her move last night... she has a point. I'm just glad you didn't try to log in another 5 times! So I treated her to dinner and a long massage... And she decided on leniency: allowing me to keep my family Jewels.
SO MUCH FOR A QUICK QUEST!
Anyways, she may ((or may not)) be happy to hear that the Vives team was able to remedy the cause of the glitch. Now it's just me that looks like a jerk.
MENTAL NOTE: 50 characters... ((Stinking gnomes!))
Thanks again for the help by the Vives team.
Sorry to Kal's Companions for the disastrous adventure which should have been an easy cleansing and looting. ((And Congrats to Beren//Agrippa for the new level! At least something good came of the expedition!))

Whenever there is a JINX or perhaps an unforeseen malfunction (especially with machinery -
and this time with the whole "servers cogwheels")
We can only conclude, that Gnomes have something to do with it.
I find it hard to bring myself to blame the Gnomes for having (duh) Gnomish names.
They are traditionally very unique and varifying sort of names.
*slaps his face*

So it was him all the time. The whole thing just made me laugh, but finding out the true reason behind all of it was something that really made me burst.
My thanks also goes to the Vives team, for solving the whole thing out, and Bereil, Holace - did wonders.
Kal, I do apreciate your concern. Btw. you did a fine job as a partyleader too.
(ps. Kal, you should propably not tell your girlfriend that it was actually for the gnomes of Vives,
that made it impossible for you to help her. Somehow she might not understand ^_^ ) |
