Problems with Hide Shields Recipes

I have tried to make a Boarhide shield, and although it says I have two of the only required ingredient I do not seem to be given the option to create the item. The option to make it is also red rather then green.
Have these recipes been removed?
Thanks for any help or advice.

| Make sure you have a correct number of ingidients- Im not sure but perhaps a Boar HIde Shield requires more than 2? (making it rather thick) |

Just to follow up on this, I did some experimenting in the hide shield crafting department a few weeks back and learned the following:
It seems the only woodworking ingredients for hide shields that are craftable from are long and short staves of oak, and hickory. It produces a "zz_" item, the placeholder I think Paul was using when he fixed up the woodworking benches for making the new bows.
Woodworking ingredients for other hide shields (I've tried yew, can't get ash) have scripts on the woodworking benches but don't yield items when crafted successfully.
In sum, you should be able to make hide shields from rat (hickory), wolf (oak), and brown bear (oak), but can't make badger (ash), boar (yew), or deer (yew) hide shields; the wooden ingredients can't be made in the game. I hope its OK to give these ingredients here, they're available from anyone to look at on the benches themselves...
Wooden shields are totally out. Metal shields, on the other hand, are in!
I know this is a work in progress and not a bug. Just thought I'd report on what I found. |

((Once I tried the shields that DON'T require wood: Badgerhide and Deerhide Small shields... maybe those are what you tried? If I remember right, the Deerhide Small Shield is only 2 hides. (In the future if you report the specific item and what you provided, what it requested, more information will give programmers more info to work with and save them time...) Anyways, if I remember right neither of those shields worked for me even despite that they didn't call for wood (the actual reason why I crafted them: pure convenience.) ))
((The best thing you can do is give a specific bug report "/bug" and then speak the problem with as many specifics as you can... then the programmers get a PM, (I believe) that tells them the problem, the time and location. Vives is a constantly changing world, so I try to be patient (even though Kal is a crafting fanatic) and keep in mind that our facilitators are also hosting events, customizing the world, trying new things... and each have a life of their own on the outside. ))

I would report it as a bug, but I wasn't sure if the recipes had been taken out for a reason or not (maybe they had been removed for game balancing reasons) this was just a check to see if anyone knew if they had been.
If it is a bug then I will be happy to give all the details. But as it seems it could be part of on-going development then I am sure the team are well aware of it. |
