IG life changing events!

Well!
what are the events/people that have changed your chars' lives?
I'll start.
Tom was a nice halfling folk untill he got married.
=p
(and the elaborated version:
then he was given a gift from a friend, and was sent away of his wife for some time..
he became really bitter ever since. but most times he hides it well.
[well, untill someone makes him angry or greedy in one way or another =p ]

Calmeir met a young halfling woman named Jade, and when asked about his occupation he responded that he used to be in the Midoran military. When asked of his rank, he responded with the fect that he was a footsoldier. To which she said, then you can be a general in my army. And so began, in essence, the Emerald Order.
Another Calmeir one: Grak a very good friend and member of the recently formed Emerald Order was mercilessly slaughtered at the hands of the Night Masks, who then paraded around with his head as a trophy. Their extermination was summarily promised after that. (hasn't occurred yet, but someday...)
Yet another great Calmeir moment: The moment Quies left, and Dias/Xaranthir told Calmeir that it was over... That she would not be coming back, and that we had not won. (i'm finally starting to recover from that one)
On a more recent note. Jand proposed to Ana, and the next day they both found out he may be marked for torture and possibly death. (real good way to diminish the glow of engagement... Thanks go out to Shalee for that one! ) |

Hey that was not her fault...you can blame the demon for that...besides Jand told her to pick him. That he was the strongest one of the group. She would have taken it on herself, but that was not an option. And Ana wasn't even suppose to be involved, but this demon is not very nice.
Hhhmmm....life changing events. I would say being able to hear demons in her head is one for Shalee. She was just out looking for a little adventure. Be careful what you ask for. Showing compassion to Voryn was a big mistake on her part. And the girl still doesn't learn.
Of course meeting Jonny was a big event for her. She has a reason to keep fighting the demon now.
Helping to cleanse the stones in the desert showed her that she could be strong and has made her more a believer in the ways of Aros and Elbereth. |

Two leap out for me:
Muga meeting Hatti, and becoming a flower loving, butterfly chasing, water splashing hippy half orc for a while! An experience that...inasmuch as possible...made her even more prone to ripping things into little pieces...especially centaurs! Now only Luther has killed more centaurs than Muga...and lets face it he's killed more of everything than anyone else! Psycho! *grins*
The other was starting a new, shy character called Marillian. Wandering around Ferein and completely accidentally bumping into Elvalia, the very first PC I'd met as that character. This led to an on the spot creation of an entire character life history over a couple of hours great one-on-one rp. And eventually led to the dm team deciding that Marillian should be abducted and sent to hell to be tortured cos it just might bother Elvalia a little bit! *grins evilly*
Sure there have been others, the "Muga Bugbreath" character background on the forums has plenty of memorable moments thanks to that evil sadist Barnas...but those are the two that stick out for me.

Oh my God.... so so many, but a few probably stand out.
Meeting Gullener Tider and being bought a drink in Da Hole in da Ground Inn which resulted in Elvalia making up her early history on the spur of the moment and gave birth to Elvalia's Tale.
Being given her 'father's' bow by Aros, giving it up at the funeral of the elf who's name I can never remember, only to dang near kill Jonny when she found he had walked off with it (Bron has it now)
Not so much meeting Marillan but the abduction scene, which caught me completely wrong- footed and led to Elvalia growing up a hell of a lot and a story which is still going on now.
Ronan's suicide, which had me crying my eyes out for over a week... I had a lot of trouble even so much as logging on as Elvalia for days afterwards.
Two from which I wish I had screenshots... defying the demons at the Standing Stones with the help of Aros... and making his bow in the temple gardens.
All of these were great moments but there have been and still will be many more |

Cantor's major life changing events:
1. Meeting Pokeundi.
2. Mining extensively in the Cavern of Sorrows.
3. Encountering one of the node gems.
4. Finally getting so frustrated at the rediculously low prices the city merchants were offering him for some of the most powerful magical items in the land that he decided to go into business against them.
Yes, I know only #4 is explained. The rest are FOIG. |

short synopsis of Macha's life-changing events
1. Running away from her village
2. Meeting Sinjin, then meeting Mykal, and the ensuing drama
3. Mykals death
4. Returning home to her village, and the ensuing drama
5. Sinjin being gone, then returning, then being gone
6. Being "hunted" by Tarik
7. Of course all her dear friends in various ways
I know there are tons and tons of other interactions that I could put on here, but these are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. |

Well for Jonny it was definately having the oportunity to draw a naked inebriated Callia..
This not only launched his career as a famed artist but also got him into more trouble than most will encounter in a lifetime.
Then there was the time he soiled his armour due to Callia summoning a demon to kill him.
(Elvalia claimed he still smelt weeks later)
Setting fire to the scarletto estate and being in prison
And of course, meeting Shalee. |

Hmm.. Shard's still new, but I think he has a few.
1) Death to a level 1 (at level 8 ) kobold. Taught him that even the smallest threats.. are still threats.
2) Death to his own fireball. He learned to aim, on that one.
3) Death(unconsious) to an Endurance spell. Taught him that even the good spells can be lethal.
4) Death to a trap, AFTER the entire place was clear. Next level, he learned to disable traps. :)
5) Death to <insert countless high level boss spells here>. Taught him never to walk into a room first, let others do it for you.
6) Death to various critical hits. He's still learning not to go into melee. O.o
and lastly, the most dangerous of them all..
7) Death to Lytton. Ever wonder what happens when the gods get bored? I don't. |

Well.. last I checked, he was a moving archery target professing it's love for Cantor. Or err.. a blue dragon.
...or a kobold that hits for 136 or some such.
Actually, now that I think about it.. I think he was behind the Chicken incident in Port Royale. =x
