Re: The (Mis)Adventures Continue! Posted: 06 Oct 2007 09:51 AM |
Alright everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything yet. But, as you can probably guess, I was asleep Had a long last few days, and my bedtime is usually around 9PM EST. To do gaming from 10 - 2 is rough on me, but possible. Unfortunately, while I knew I had some downtime, I thought I'd rest my eyes for a few moments, and let the sound of an opening door get my attention... that didn't work out.
Now, as for the party! Man, what an insanely hilarious group. At first I was afraid Jarook would be too evil for a paladin's company, but, I've had that worry taken care of. And yes, it is quite a silly party. The humor of it is fine, we just gotta learn to start moving forward. I think the biggest problem is that we were always waiting for someone, and next time I think we should just get going and let people catch up to us.
Humor is great, as long as you can type while your character walks :D |

I think the level of silliness of the party is just fine. It is important to point out that there are many kinds of silly. For example you've got loony on one hand and dead pan on the other. I really enjoyed playing Einarr with you guys. The real reason I didn't stick around... I realized my time was running out and I wanted to make a run to Ka'azim. When I got back to the inn it was time for the player to go to sleep.
I've been lucky so far with being available to play with you. It is unlikely to continue. But when I am around I'll jump in.
I do have one very large suggestion however... I think the silliness is fine, but the purely freeform roleplay will eventually lose its entertainment value. I think the group needs some direction so that it is more than just silliness. Take that show on the road man! It can not just be for the patrons of the Winds. The world - and the monsters - need to witness your antics! |

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I created Krul with the explicit intention of being a raving looney. So he's not going to change much, even if we do dial back the madness. As for last night, it was great. The quest for the privy gnome of forever away, the defeat of the ogre of the false-privy, the loss of the armor of sacrifice, all great.
I have an idea about how to get the group moving, maybe we can set up individual quests for each member of the group, like when we went looking for an axe for Jarook. We could simply take turns with what each character wants to locate, see, acquire, nothing fancy, and maybe if a dm feels like it they could leave us a trail of breadcrumbs to find it.
It would give the group some direction to go in at least.
I'm sure Krul would love to have an axe with a mirror finish, anything to better see himself with. The quest for the battleaxe Hand-Mirror anyone?. Plus we've still got to find that privy gnome.
I can see it now, they find some poor gnome on the pot in port, and offer to quest for him in exchange for gifts, and port being port, people are quick to take advantage.
Oh great privy gnome, he who is incontinent, keeper of the sacred bog-roll, lighter of matches and opener of windows! We pledge ourselves to you!
Oh and Henesua, sorry about pulling on your beard, and I hope you can come back and join us, I really do. We would be lost without He who has been! |

OK, regarding tonights adventure: I say we start rolling out at 7:15PST, (10:15EST), from where ever we're going to where ever we're going, regardless of who's there. Anyone who shows up later can be caught up at such a time, so that we don't run into the same thing as last time, where we sat in the Four Winds for an hour and a half :P
Anyone who agrees or disagrees, please speak up! |

| Irrespective of Tasra's note above, I'm either gonna miss tonight's game or be very late. I'll see if I can't catch up to you folks around midnight. |

I'll probably be 7:15 p.m. PST or a little thereafter. |

| Well, it looks increasingly as if I'll be unable to attend tonight's festivities. Very sorry, Tasra, and all. I'll still be on my trip on Friday, so I'll look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday. |

Whine whine whine. Some of us had to be up at quarter of 5 to work As for Friday, I suspect that'll have to be a bust for me as well, since I'm making a trek up to Philly. Just keep me in the loop as to what level to get Barret up to to keep him on par with the group. |

I'm sort of at a loss for information, and I'm actually looking forward to them each weekend to miss the chance if I have a choice.
So, is there a session going on this weekend? If so, when and where? |

I say yes. Tonight (Friday, 10/12), about two and a half hours from now, 10:00 PM or so EST. We usually gather around to wake up Barret Victor from his nap in the Four Winds Inn. Then the silliness may commence!
Anyone else up for it tonight? |

I'm up for it, of course.
Tasra informed me earlier he wouldn't be able to make it, but I hope everyone else will. |

De Breenie's gonna pass some bylaws for this adventuring group while he's away, no doubt.
Or maybe he'll finally get his luggage moved. That could be tonight's adventure!! |

Sorry all, de Breenie's in Lexington, Kentucky on a business trip still. Definitely on for Tuesday evening though.
And my luggage is an excellent adventure idea! I wonder how many adventurers it will take to find and move (and no doubt destroy) my luggage.... |

Tons of fun last night, to all involved. Anyone who missed out, you missed some great stuff going on :D Barret and Archibald actually got along, a little bit... -ish... towards the end! And the party is actually starting to show a wee little bit of solidarity :o
When's the next time everyone is available? |

When's the next time everyone is available?
Aside from what Henesua's got planned for tomorrow, I could try for Friday night at 10:00 EST if folks are up for it. Otherwise, I'll bank on getting my fix of silliness on Tuesday next week. |
