| Just posting to say "Hi!" *waves like a mad drunkard* (and thanks for allowing me to be here! :) ).
I've only been on a little while today (i'm pretty busy at the moment with writing out 100+ Xmas cards) but I had a really good time with some rather odd RP. Looking to come on later, this place seems really cool so far. :) |

| dammit, its true! I saw its lips move! (lips on birds? Birdlip? (actually quite an odd little town in the UK, once visited there on the way to a festival)).

| I'm glad to see that Vives 1 will be running alongside Vives 2. So many PWs are planning to leap onto NWN2 and pull the plug on their NWN1 counterpart, as if its a mere hop skip and jump to transcend 4 years difference in engine technologies and quite a few thousand polygons difference in terms of graphical detail. With quite a bit of dev chats saying how difficult it'll be for a server to run more than 20+ areas, it seems as if theres at least going to have to be dulled-down tilesets made for ... |

| Custom content is another issue though.
Firstly i'd say that people won't really care about custom content at first, because we'll all have fun new toys to play with! :D
However, with the sheer mass of custom content available for NWN, and the load of graphical improvements involved for NWN2, there will be many, many things that NWN2 will not have that you would have had with NWN1 and custom content. The stuff that you will have though will be fresh, exciting and above all.....higher ... |

| I have a feeling that eventually someone will have made custom tilesets for NWN2 that are stripped down versions of their hi-res counterparts. Seems the easiest workaround for the areas issue. :) |

| You could just randomize traps etc. and possibly routes as well. With NWN1 and placeable walls you had the ability to do this with a bit of scripting, and its pretty good fun, especially when the puzzled guide murmurs "I Dont remember this wall being here before".
It means that the player can still act as a guide, as they'll come to rooms and / or markings that they've remembered from before. The only thing thats changed is the evil overlord living in its depths, tired of this darn guide ... |

| So is this a yay or nay on the scripting? Also, bar stat changes, what other changes could there be made?
One thing I just thought of would be a modification to the PC Charisma Tip tool, adding into the equation the effect of "Beer Goggles" :). It would work better and be more PC friendly than the forced lines of speech some drunk scripts have, and would add a nice touch to RP with players who use the tool regularly.
This goes far beyond aiding drunk RP. If, once drunk, a variable is set ... |

| Hehe.
I'm just glad I didn't make any glaring typos / ramble incoherently in my post, seeing as, by sheer coincidence, i'd only just got back from the pub. I wasn't feeling like hugging the toilet though, just going over and telling it what a damn great friend its been to me over the years. |

| Is this still required / wanted? I was scripting a whole load of stuff like this a while back as a little side project. Hehe, was working on hallucinogens as well  (now THAT was fun :D)
If anyones still interested, just PM me with whats needed and i'll dig out those scripts. :) |
