1.Hakpack Links
Posted by Quietus on 7/27/2003 7:17:32 PM
This post will serve as the main download location for all hakpaks used for Vives.

First of all, Vives is running SoU (Shadows of Undrentide) and HotU (Hordes of the Underdark), so you must have those to connect to Vives.

As for hakpacks, all of them can now be found on this page:

Vives Hakpacks New, as v1.68

10.Re: Question about skills

Is there ever a point where adding another rank to a skill isn't doing any good or just doesn't matter?

Not if it's bo-staff skills or computer hacking skills.
11.Re: Survey on wisdom

Wisdom is a somewhat overlooked attribute in my experience. Some seem to incorporate some of its attributes into intelligence, thereby rendering wisdom a so called 'dump stat'.

Usually CHA is the dump stat, but not for everyone:

This forum software isn't the greatest.WinkThose statistics have always been messed up. Another fine example would be the search function. I no longer bother with it, but use google with vives.dyndns.org in the site info so it only searches this domain.

Both of these will be fixed in v2.

Liked it. Especially all the violence, gore, and nudity scenes.

Same here. I had zero expectations so that helped.

I suggested to Ara that we do 600x100 mainly because that's roughly the height of the current one but not quite as wide.

As for colors, we plan to be able to skin the website. One skin will be the the current color scheme (and that's the only one I'm working on now) but Ficcy is planning on adding more.

16.Re: DMs: announce to party members the objects picked up
Posted by Quietus on 2/23/2007 10:27:47 AM
Off the top of my head, it could be implemented in several ways

1/ announce to all party members, regardless of distance when they loot something

2/ announce to all party members, but only to those within a certain radius

3/ announce to all PCs within a certain radius

You could keep it in the RP realm and do #3 but make the PC roll some sort of "check" and if they succeed then PST something like:

And you could even let PCs try to conceal stealing stuff from a chest -- make them go into stealth mode (or some mode all PCs have) and then make that a roll, and compare that against the nearby PCs to see if the looter is skilled enough to conceal or if the nearby PC is observant enough to notice -- I'd think ...
