| 1. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by EBeast on 10/5/2006 1:19:30 AM a quick shout to do'taloc... you made a tour through an already looted Carfax a blast, in part 'cause when I realized Dredger was you, I was lol remembering the perfectly synchronized sapphire mining with Mirg during a tour with Dana and Markus awhile back... and that was right before I said a prayer for Fat Stan... holy monkey, too funny.
and even though I probably should of done this already, a belated shout to Vulpina for indulging in my wild improv last night... a completely ... |
| 2. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by EBeast on 10/26/2006 3:11:00 PM Back at ya do'taloc. Dredger is a great character, sorry he ended up being a meat shield last night. It wasn't supposed to go down like that! |
| 3. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by EBeast on 12/1/2006 9:42:09 AM Shoutout to Arrogant Worm for the trip to 'Marldarvyar' yesterday. I was wishing for sub-titles there for awhile, but eventually my brain adjusted. I am hoping you start a journal in the forums, so I can practice translating Londo-speak in a less dangerous setting ;)
I have to admit, thought that was going to be a suicide mission, which only made the outcome that much sweeter. |
| 4. | Re: Vives² Suggestions Posted by EBeast on 12/12/2006 2:31:09 PM I'd like to see a change in the way XP gets decremented for killing the same monster multiple times. I understand the logic behind the current system, however, for a tough battle, getting 2 XP doesn't seem right.
Perhaps the system could be massaged such that the XP doesn't start to decrease until the PC level > (monster level - 3) (ie. if the monster is more than 3 levels higher than the PC, full XP is still awarded).
I would think a fight in which a character almost ... |

| 6. | Re: Can you play NWN2? Posted by EBeast on 10/26/2006 2:56:18 PM Yepper. Luckily I needed a new machine anyway, so I'm all ready to go. Good timing for once. |
| 7. | Re: This isn't looking good... Posted by EBeast on 11/13/2006 3:27:49 PM I presume there will be some very good things coming out of the community to make this fantastic. In the mean time, I'm perfectly happy letting the game sit and chill while I wait.
Pretty much exactly what I decided after trying to play this thing for several hours.
My new machine was built specifically with NWN2 in mind, and should handle the game with ease. Instead, I had to tweak for an hour to consistantly get 20 fps.
I ... |
| 8. | Re: This isn't looking good... Posted by EBeast on 11/14/2006 11:20:05 AM As a fellow software engineer, I second everything Paul said about software development.
Was I disappointed with NWN2? Yeah, sure, there are many things about this game that still need work. Was I surprised that it got released in this state? Not a bit. For the reasons that Paul stated, and also because that has become the release model for every software company today. It is not right, but it is reality.
Would Atari/Obsidian sell more copies upon release if it were ... |

| 10. | Re: Tell No One Posted by EBeast on 12/17/2005 10:08:54 PM Fell glanced back into the looking glass for the umpteenth time, paying close attention to the dark lines under his eyes. “Were they there before?” He couldn’t remember. Iris has said it would only affect druids… for now. He cleared his throat, which felt a bit sore. “Nonsense, he was fine” he told himself as he stared at his tongue and throat, trying to memorize their hue for later reference.
The darkness under his eyes was probably nothing more than a reminder that he ... |
| 11. | Serious weirdness going on? Posted by EBeast on 12/22/2005 11:18:20 AM Vives seems to be having a lot of hiccups last night and this morning. I have been getting booted, but when I log back in, I'm standing next to myself. Weapons not equiping correctly. Also was dead when I logged on this morning. Is anyone else having these problems? |
| 12. | Re: Serious weirdness going on? Posted by EBeast on 1/2/2006 7:45:20 PM A Quick FYI
The router that was causing the clone problem was a linksys WRK-54G v1.1
Updating the router's firmware to the latest (v1.58.03) seemed to help, but we still were experiencing some problems getting booted from the server when more than one person was logged on simultaneously.
Glad to be back using my own router, but I do miss Jakad's clone, he was more entertaining then the original ;o) |
| 13. | Re: Serious weirdness going on? Posted by EBeast on 1/2/2006 8:57:36 PM additional FYI in case someone else experiences the same problem
This was from a PM from RedDragon26...
I had the same thing happen before.. Try changing your client port in the NWN player file. EX. port 5201 and 5202. To play together both online they can't be the same.
Thanks to RedDragon, pdwalker, and everyone else who helped with this. |

| 15. | No rooms for rent? Posted by EBeast on 12/7/2005 8:42:41 AM My character, Fell, has recently aquired a few heavy items that he cannot use yet, due to level restrictions. Since these items nearly encumbered him, I set of to find a room to rent. Seems like a vacant room in Vives, is scarcer than a belt that confers +3 strength. Not that I haven't had fun trying to find a vacant room IG, but the constant inventory reshuffle is starting to get old. I was wondering if there were any plans to add additional inns any time soon?
Anyway, not ... |
| 16. | Re: no rooms for rent? Posted by EBeast on 12/7/2005 12:17:37 PM An update, I did get myself some nice digs! Out of the way place, and pricey too. I wonder if they charged me more because I am so human? Supply and demand I guess.
Anyhow, I am now forced to play as much as possible to try and accomodate those level restrictions before I go broke ;o) |

| 18. | Re: NWN2 Preview Posted by EBeast on 11/14/2005 4:34:51 PM Probably means that it will be ready by 4th quarter 2006, and therefor it will be out in spring '06, so that customers can do the hard QA testing. Most of the bad show stoppers should be patched by fall 2006 ;o) |

James42
"So I did, thinking I could get a few friends together and we could have some fun. Well, that was pretty wishful thinking that (1) I actually HAD friends! and (2) those few I did have would follow through, buy the game, and play it with me."
Not so wishful I think. James42 has friends, even if he had to travel far thru space n time to find one who would play a multiplayer online rp game with. He ... |
| 20. | Fell Undtivives: Off to find my fortune Posted by EBeast on 10/5/2005 12:03:19 PM Please humor me as I attempt this introduction. It should not be a gamble for most, as I'm not one to ramble. Indeed, after only 18 years, there is not much to tell.
I was reared mainly by older sister, Valarre, my mother having perished after a long parturition. I sometimes am pained that my emergence into this world coincided with mother's passing. My older brothers, yet alive somewhere in this world (but also alive in my head), can even now be heard murmuring "Coincided? ... |
