Posted: 22 Dec 2005 11:18 AM Vives seems to be having a lot of hiccups last night and this morning. I have been getting booted, but when I log back in, I'm standing next to myself. Weapons not equiping correctly. Also was dead when I logged on this morning. Is anyone else having these problems? I was reading posts when the site got some sort of hickup, after a few attempts to reload the site I was suddenly jumped in Siracs account, it said "Vives (Logged in as: Sirac)" up in the corner of my browser. I got some neat "moderate" button and stuff, logged out right away and re-logged with my own username and it worked fine. Sirac was logged in at the moment so it seems I posessed his account or something devilish. Garrak. I dont know if this helps any, but another server i used to play had the same kind of problems (well people kept jumbing from player to another player and clones of charcs standing around) one day and the next day there was alot of posts about the servervault being hacked into. I don't know who's account it was, but three or four days ago when I went to the site, instead of seeing the normal member interface, I too was suddenly logged in with (apparently) full administrative options. When I reloaded, it was gone. But looking at who is logged in after refreshing the page, I think it's okay now. Posted: 22 Dec 2005 12:45 PM The logging in apparently with other peoples usernames is a fault of the firewall. The device we use is rather simple and sometimes has trouble with the amount of people who access it. Yeah, the cloning thing happened to me once, but it wasn't due to any hacking. The problem we had was the NAT with my router. Since two people were logging on in the same household the router was getting confused or somesuch and causing a rauckus. Posted: 22 Dec 2005 10:24 PM Ara - it looks like it is still happening. Yes, we just had an interesting evening with two of mbiest's Jakad characters. Even when mbiest crashed several times, the "doppelganger" stayed in. He seemed to have become an NPC of sorts. You could click on him and he would "grumble" at you. Posted: 02 Jan 2006 07:45 PM A Quick FYI The router that was causing the clone problem was a linksys WRK-54G v1.1 Updating the router's firmware to the latest (v1.58.03) seemed to help, but we still were experiencing some problems getting booted from the server when more than one person was logged on simultaneously. Posted: 02 Jan 2006 08:57 PM additional FYI in case someone else experiences the same problem This was from a PM from RedDragon26... I had the same thing happen before.. Try changing your client port in the NWN player file. EX. port 5201 and 5202. To play together both online they can't be the same. Thanks to RedDragon, pdwalker, and everyone else who helped with this.
