| 2. | Re: gambling Posted by Cor Reale on 8/29/2007 4:34:28 PM Luys Card is willing to hold such a match, with approval and backing from the local crime bosses. He is not rich or strong enough to defend the cash boxes without hired hands, and he has no funds to back everyone's bets if the house folds. He is just risky enough to chance with a large sum of money and a pay-per-fight all-bets-are-on illegal fighting matches. |
| 3. | gambling Posted by Cor Reale on 8/23/2007 6:19:48 PM I see there are pits in the city of Port where fights are held, and I've heard talk of gambling in the bars with card games. I'd like to see dart gambling, and dog fights. I've yet to see a poker game held in the city of Port, and I'd like to get in on a hand. Most of all, I think dog fighting is a grand sport to have, as it encourages gold bets and the odds can vary depending on the dog. |
| 4. | Re: gambling Posted by Cor Reale on 8/23/2007 6:28:40 PM I get the impression that Port is a corrupt city, especially at the moment with an era of enforced gentrification. The fact is, I'd like to see the hard life in all of its many rings, in the middle class establishements to the dives that only thugs and criminals frequent. A good old fashion fist fight and a few bets. In the worse places, the reputation of the owners and gamblers can change the odds of the game. Never ever bet against the house if you are new, or if there is any question ... |

| 12. | Re: gambling Posted by Cor Reale on 8/23/2007 6:33:38 PM I was lagging out and hit the post button ten or so times! I sure hope an administrator deletes the excess ones. Sure, I can ask the question what evil really is, but if I ask that many times karma will come and bite me for certain! |
| 13. | medieval musket Posted by Cor Reale on 8/22/2007 3:32:46 PM Where are the guns? In the original AD&D 2nd addition game, the aquerabus, or musket, was an optional addition to the package. There were some DMs that did not want gunpowder in stores, or even at high prices to be bought and sold, so the very prospect was eliminated. I can see miners selling the rare powder, gnome alchemists extracting the necessary magics and elven enchanters waving a wand over the mysterious powder. There are models for the medieval musket in a NWN expansion, and I ... |
| 14. | Luys Card: a short relapse Posted by Cor Reale on 8/30/2007 6:03:48 PM Born Luys Card, son of Adan Card and mother lost to the annals of the Oracle's lexicon was an orphan for the earliest years of his childhood with his confidant swagger and strong grasp enlisted in the Queen's guard for the defense of the local Buckshire. He was a frequenter of low places and lowly bum with a knack for cleanliness and basic etiquette that even the basest of guards swallows in the service of greater royalty. He carried with him the respect for the name and those that he served ... |
| 15. | Re: Hiring Agent Posted by Cor Reale on 8/31/2007 11:49:31 AM By word of mouth, Mr Miggins remembers the name of a gentleman come in a few months ago, by the name of Card asking for any agents hiring adventurers. [Mr. Card] had a knack for jewelry appraisel, crafts and a strong desire for travel, hailing all the way from Buckshire. A restless man in full plate armor and a thin, agile rapier on his hip, seemed cavalier and was spotted entering some dangerous northern territories in employee. |
