1.Re: Shoutouts

Agreed.

Thank you for making Araleth's first DM encounter an experience that felt, to me, to be truly alive. Also, I can't help but mention the rest of the players there...

To all that planning on the Nalliamne expedition:

I've had a last minute conflict come up, and so won't be able to make it tonight. As much as I'd like to be irresponsible, I've got to put Vives on the backburner for a few days. Unfortunately, it's that time of the year for those of us who are still students. Anyway, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Just type /dm before the [text]. Should do the trick.

And no idea about your second question.

Personal Journal
===========

Most of my small victories have been private ones. I've managed to learn enough wilderness lore to keep myself alive, and I'm even to the point now where I can concern myself with other things, like keeping this journal. I had never thought of myself as a person prone to reflection, but here I am anyway. Really I don't feel much like the same person at all anymore. I hope that, if the worst happens, someone will find it one day, and know what was ...

The Birth of Adrian Locke
================

The wind rarely blows so cold in August.

That is what Marckus Locke remembered thinking as he locked up on the eve of his son's birth. Front door, back door, the windows. Crime wasn't bad in their nameless Town. "I must be getting old, then," he mused to himself and walked to the bottom of the stair.

"How is she?" he called up the stairs to the midwife.

"Jus' fine, Mr. Locke, but ...

The Return
=======

The next day, they awoke from fitful sleep to find the infant asleep between them in their bed. It was as it never happened. Or rather, it was never again spoken of. Nothing was really ever the same again for Marckus and Annie Locke.

The memory faded, but remained a wedge between the husband and wife. What small pleasures they once shared together dulled and grayed. And, of course, people talked. They found that the rumor mill could be cruel. ...

The Notes of Havarin Mourne: Warden, Adassa Tower Sanitarium

8.Sir Erick's Vigil
Posted by Autumn on 3/18/2006 3:15:37 PM
The sound of rustling canvas awoke Erick Aidanson from his slumber ushering in the final day of Heraldship training. His tent flap was drawn open and the figure of Sir Tonan walked in, barely discernable in the dim grey of predawn.

He set a basin of water and folded white cloth on the crate at the head of his cot and looked down at him.

"It's nearly dawn," he said, "Wash yourself and put these on. Report to the Command Plateau in twenty minutes."

I once was a Whitestone, now am I no longer.
I once had a father, now I've no father around.
And he dreamed once of mercy and justice,
alas, only peace he has found.

I'll carry anew what he carried to death,
now lain in the cold sullen ground.

10.The Fire
Posted by Autumn on 2/27/2006 8:14:09 PM
He still saw the fire.

He had hated himself for staying. But he did. He -was- just one man, but that particular excuse alway rang hollow to him. He had worn the colors of Midoran, the same as the rest of them.

He couldn't leave.

He couldn't fight. That would get him killed. Painlessly only if he were fortunate.

He thought himself to be the very definition of impotence.

It hadn't always been this way.

His rise through the Academy ...
11.No Arrow for You (and Me)
Posted by Autumn on 2/14/2006 11:12:10 PM
Just had a quick question/observation... the arrow crafting process seems overly difficult relative to other crafting systems, due to the dangerous location of a certain something something needed that you may or may not know and I may or may not be allowed to mention OOG(?).

Anyway, just a thought... doesn't seem right that a (really cool looking) system seems to be almost completely inaccesible to a medium level character.

Thanks, everyone.

Hmm... Hofbrau Original is my favorite beer at the moment, along with whiskey, either Bourbon or Scotch, depending on the occasion. Also a variety of red wines.

Entry I

I find myself suddenly leagues upon leagues away from my home, and largely in solitude. It has been that, for several weeks, the leaves crunching underfoot have been my sole companionship. Though the quiet of the woods I have traveled has been therapeutic, the lack of good conversation has not. It is for this reason that I write now, though I fear that my writings will become, rather, a ...
