| Did anything else get added other than areas in the latest additions? I crashed a few times the other night, which hasn't happened in a good while. Just curious. |

Once at the standing stones (almost immediately after logging in) and once on the shore outside Port I believe (after playing for 30 min or so).
Though, I got to thinking about it, and I am also now running RC 7 (used to be XP when I played quite a bit) and just recently installed some new ram. So those could be new factors in the mix. I'll play some more and let you know what happens. *shrug*
Thanks ;)
EDIT: So, I reinstalled, updated everything, ran the 1.69 to 1.68 revert patch, and now I crash immediately when it loads the initial area.
EDIT: EDIT: So, it appears it was just something in my override folder. |

*hijacks* An update on my issues for anyone who cares.
After a complete format of hardrive, flashing of both BIOS and CMOS, annnd a sacrificial goat to the heathen gods the virus is dead. I know, I know, your going to tell me its my own fault for visiting the web page for the German Canasta finals. Anyway, I have to reinstall NWN, which everyone knows is a 4 hour process, and pray it works on Windows 7.

| How is Windows 7 working out for you? What were you using before? |

| Quite everything should run on Windows 7. Either simply run the executable in XP mode, and if that doesn´t help 7 has that nice feature called Virtual XP mode. |

To my horror. I have lost my CD keys to NWN. I can't find the manuals anywhere. Do not fear my times at Vives still might not be over. I am checking Amazon as we spea..er...as you read this. Well, I guess it depends on /when/ you read this but that's beside the point.
Anyway, How is Windows 7 working out for you? What were you using before?
Love it!! I was using XP. I haven't had any issues whatsoever, although I haven't installed NWN yet due to what I mentioned above. NWN 2 runs great. The interface is very smooth and tight. What I mean by that is, once you get used to the new interface its much easier then XP. When I installed Win7 it already had all the drivers for every single piece of hardware I own, and I have some /very/ old hardware. I really like how it tells you when something is wrong and you just have to click once and it automatically finds the fix online. It bugs you to backup your system which I always seem to forget. I haven't had any troubles with older software like my 7 year old copy of microsoft office. Things do run faster. Granted I have had it for umm...4 days now, but I really like it.

You mean you didn't save your keys with Bioware on their website!? That is one of my favorite things. Of course now I have the whole thing on a flash drive and can just plug into anycomputer to play ;P

I also have really enjoyed Windows 7 (However I reverted all of my appearance stuff to windows classic mode, which I always do.) I too switched from XP (skipped Vista) and it seems like for the most part it took the good things of Vista and left out the bad. The only complaint I have is that there is absolutely 0 gameport support, so I can not use my Sidewinder Forcefeedback Pro joystick anymore. *sigh* Ah well, looking into switching some internals with the USB version of the same stick. (The USB made some cosmetic changes I don't like, that's why I want to try and keep the original.) Oh yeah, Windows 7... Uhm.. I do seem to be having some minor conflict with my Soundblaster Audigy.. It works well enough, but I believe it is the reason for some of my crashing. I just haven't gotten around to reinstalling all the drivers.
I think that's it for the moment. :) |
