A Return to Vives? Posted: 23 Jun 2008 07:14 AM |
Firstly, congratulations on keeping Vives up and running for so long, is it over five years now?
I recently got a little nostalgic about my time on this server, I’m unsure if anyone will remember my two main characters; Doujan (Elven rogue/shadow-dancer) and Eerel Swiftfoot (the fast little Halfling). I got to thinking about some of excellent times on Vives:
Storming the with Hill(?) Giant Caves with Glordong and Alton. Wheeler-dealing with Cantor. Quests to Undraeth. Fleeing for your life from Maldovia. Hours spent exploring and finding rare plants and precious stones.
I haven’t played NWN for what must be nearly two years now, between getting married, moving (several times), work and the other trappings of adulthood.
Anyway to cut to the chase I have a bit more free time of late and wondered whether it would be possible for Eerel to return from the wilderness so to speak. I will likely only be able to be online two or three hours each week but I’d be very interested to visit some old haunts, see if there have been many changes to the land and perhaps bump into some old and new faces.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
Of course I remember Eerel and our crazy adventures together. Too bad Glordong isn't around or we'd have a complete set!

Cheers WickedArtist!
Crazy adventures indeed, ending with bar brawls at the Docs!
I'm not really sure where to start as I'm guessing the hakpaks have changed, I don't know how to go about logging onto the server and my worry that the player character bank has been purged! |

There might be one change to the Haks over the past two years. You should simply check that out in the forums.
And no, the character vault was not wiped. |

I reckon it will be like a whole new server. That last several areas to open up are just astounding.
What timezone are you in Para? I've been playing a few evenings each week, EST. |

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Thanks for the replies, it looks as if there have been a couple of new haks added which I'll get hold of and good news about the character vault being intact too.
renter6: I'm in the UK so GMT for me which is EST -5 if google is correct. I'm hoping to get online on Thursday and possibly a little at the weekend. Say hello if you see me!
Also, do I need a password to get online at all? |

Hi Para,
Welcome back.
Yes, you need your nwn login password. If you don't remember it, it is the same password as you used for the bioware forums ( http://nwn.bioware.com )
The best way to play would be to arrange a time with a few other players so you have someone to chum around with.

I am also in the UK and can play pretty much any time from Thursday. If there are any other European players are reading this it would be great if we could put together a party. |
