Event: The Wind in Naillamne
Posted: 05 Jun 2008 10:45 AM
The powers of Vilyave dare not provoke Naillamne into reprisal. For Naillamne has captured not one, but two winds, both of themaspects of the goddess Vilyave herself. With this power Naillamne threatens to bring even her avatar Vaast'liax into submission.

Vaast'liax, the great elder dragon, has sought the help of those allies who favor Vilyave yet are not her priest and children. The task set before these allies is the recovery of the the West Wind, held by Naillamne for centuries, and the East Wind, stolen by agents of the Dark Tower only now. Only the south wind remains free.

Possession of these has rendered the servants of Vilyave helpless against the Dark Tower and their minions. To secure Aerielle is to recover all the winds yet straying from paradise: The Beautiful East, the Guardian West, the Free South.

To begin, the allies have been told to return to the Devil's Backbone, the place that is holy to Vilyave and her followers, and to speak with the ancient blue dragons that yet survive there.

WHAT: An Event!

This is a new episode in the Paradise Lost storyline that will lead to a confrontation with Naillamne, perhaps a venture into that dark province itself.

WHEN: Sunday June 8, at approx. 9:00 EST (That will be 1:00 AM, Monday June 9 GMT).

WHO: Anyone needing to satisfy their Vives jones! No level limit! Known associates of Naillamne need not apply.

WHERE: Meet in Swiftfoot Glade outside of Brandibuck Vale.

WHY: PM to me or Talos to contrive a reason to join this quest - Salt would seek his allies (you know who you are - just about everybody and anybody really), and Amon might do the same.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about dying."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means lying in the ground with dirt on your face and holding your breath forever."

Amon considered carefully who he could call upon to aid in the coming battle. He knew many who might answer, but few who he trusted enough to ask. The druid called very few friend, and offered few his trust. Salt Sower was among them, and already at the head of of this fight. Another he knew, taken by Helkris, he would not ask. Saana was among those he trusted, but he knew not where to reach her. He left word with one of the healers in the Port Royal temple, simply saying: "Please find me in Icy Vale. I have need of you." He was unsure, but believed her to be a follower of Vilyave, even were she to find him, she might be unable to offer help.

There was Fia as well, but he had not seen her in a long while. He left word with her tribes people, hoping that even should she not be able to lend aid, that he might at least hear from her. He knew the Seer would have more people to call upon, and hoped that he would select them wisely.

----------

Come on guys, no excuses! Lets get a monster sized party and wreck up the place!

Salt receives the unwanted communique from Naillamne, holding it by the very corners as he reads it.

It is confirmation; it was necessary to make this compromise. Amon's guidance ensured that the compromise was minimal.

Salt initiates contact with his compatriots and seeks partners who had not yet presented themselves, for a journey of a lifetime: to lay siege to Naillamne, to see what lay behind its walls; to waylay its warlocks and carry off their prize, the West Wind, the Guardian, the penultimate aspect of Vilyave imprisoned in that dark province.

((Would it be possible to shift this to Wednesday June 25 at the same time? That works for the folks I have contacted so far. I have a house guest on the 22nd and will not be able to get IG.))

Not you then? I just thourght it would explain Tristan's apparent absence from these events. Hmm, Fictrix hasn't updated the staff list either. Is this classified information? Perhaps I can work it out...

This shoutout by Talos might help:
Same from me, thanks to The Jester, Renter, Moriarty, Hene, and DSM. I had a lot of fun.

((Sooo... I know we're all sleep-deprived, but is there any interest in picking this up tonight and continuing where we left off? Pretty much my last night to play for a week or so.

If its no good, I can chill in Icy Vale until a good time comes around.))

The good folk of Buckshire are distraught as the so called mother-of-all-storms continues to cast its dreadful shadow from its high seat above Fiirkraag.

With smaller storms striking at nearly every other part of Vives, one can only wait and wonder: when will this mother-storm be unleashed?

As a result, and in display of better judgment than their esteemed mayor (who suggested the construction an unprecedentedly massive lightning conductor at the heart of the village), the militia of Buckshire has issued a plea for anyone capable of braving the slopes of Fiirkraag to investigate the matter before it has the chance to escalate.

* * *

OOC:

The final event in the Aerialle storyline will be run at:
Wednesday, July 9th, 9:00PM EST / Thursday, July 10th, 1:00AM GMT

If anyone prefers a different time, make sure we know so it can be postponed. As always, I prefer having as many of the remaining Vives players participating as is possible.

Players are to meet at Buckshire (who wants Salt's demon-rotten home anyway?).
As always, everyone and anyone is welcome to participate.
