Right,
I think we've finally figured out what was going on.
The ISP providing the service to Cecil has been playing silly buggers and cutting off service "because of malware"
(Cecil is completely clean, the only traffic in or out is web traffic)
That ISP is getting the boot since apparently we've been told (after almost 4 years) that we are not allowed to run a webserver on their service.
A pox on them.
Ara is in the process of switching the service off of that *redacted* company to one who is more friendly.

Paul:
Are there any problems with the website as well?
I've had a devil of a time trying to get to the Vives website over the past week and a half...finally made it by clicking on some random thread I found through Google (a strategy which wasn't work earlier either).
Probably just me, but I havent' seen many posts on the website either since that time, so I thought I'd check. |

Yes, it's the same thing - the website is hosted on the server that the ISP is playing about with the connection to. As it's a dynamic dns you can host the website from any machine as long as you tell the dns server to point vives.dyndns.org to it.
Given the website is working at this moment in time I guess they've either been given a temporary reprieve by the ISP or someone is kindly hosting it elsewhere. |

| Commendations to Ara and Paul for getting the server running again so quickly. I look forward to playing once my exams are over. |
