EVENT: Twelve Angry Orcs Posted: 26 Jun 2007 11:57 PM |
RP Event: 12 Angry Orcs
Wanted to start a new character but didn’t know what?
Old veteran thinking about coming back to our little sand box but figured BAH I am way behind in things?
THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU!! *points with a big finger*
The orclun settlement of M'Gok Tukar has been freed from the ruthless bondage of the Duergar. Their beloved Chief Borogask was a traitor to his people, selling them into slavery for personal gain. Now the half-orcs have no leadership and nothing to rely upon but one another. What will the Orclun do with their freedom? What lies ahead for the survivors of Vives' only tribe of half-orcs?
YOU decide.
M’Goth Tukar needs you! On July 14 at 9:00 PM US Eastern, or whenever the most people can attend, the surviving orclun will gathering in the halls of the former chief Borogask.
Every orclun is the same as every other now, and every member of the tribe will have a say. Your new character will be one of these orclun.
Rules & Information:
1. The group of PCs at this event will be deciding how the orclun society will be rebuilding itself. It first decision will be deciding its leader/leaders. The PCs present (and a few NPCs as well) will debate what should be done. Is it the time to look to tradition, or shake up the tribe?
The Duergar brought the orclun to labor at the Gladden Farmlands. Maybe the half-orcs should keep this territory and raise crops?
Does M'Gok Tukar really need another chief? Could the big men or the shaman circle rule without one? Should they have a counsel of elders? Should YOU become chief?
Or, should the orclun abolish rank altogether so that every orclun is equal to every other? It’s all up to how the debate turns out at this meeting.
2. All characters attending; a) can be newly made, b) can be an old character with a reason to be at the meeting, c) will be any of the legal character classes not needing DM permission, and must be Half-orc.
3. A brief synopsis/history of your character’s background, including some indication of their rank and faction before or after enslavement will be posted in this thread by you. This will be considered your R.S.V.P for the event. 4. It is assumed that all characters know of each other, being members of the same tribe. M'Gok Tukar just isn't that big. Keep that in mind when posting per the above. 5. Some detailed lore about M'Gok Tukar society will be posted in a separate thread and linked to this one. Everyone who will attend should read this and what information on Half-orcs is available in the PHB, to help understand the intricacies of orclun society before its enslavement. Use this information in your character concepts and keep in mind what it means to live in a "tribal" society.
6. All new characters are assumed to have very limited knowledge of the outside world if they have ever left M’Gok Tukar at all. You may play your characters before the event but please RP accordingly.
7. You may play your characters before hand to increase your diplomatic influence in the orclun society, but this is not necessary. Make your character a mighty warrior with many pretty things. Play a shaman trying to muster support for a dwarven alliance. Gather support of a famous warrior who freed her people. *coughs* RP opportunities are wide open. Make your way to M'Gok Tukar by July 14.
8. We (DSM-IV and Renter6) would like to see different segments of the tribe represented at this meeting. It doesn't have to be the men getting together in the man-cave. Let's see the elderly, the crippled, the beaten, the useless. Let's see wise-women, wet-nurses, and upstart youths. You may make characters that are attending the meeting who aren’t necessarily a leader, but are still half-orc and have concerns for the future of the tribe. Remember: in this moment, and due to recent circumstances, all members of the tribe are approximately equal.
9. Since everyone at the meeting will be half-orc, all speech is considered in orcish.
Signal your interest by posting your half-orc's background below!
Try something new! Be a half-orc for a day!

Ophelia of the Guyvers Clan.
Ophelia is renowned for her poor life choices and at times down right foolish behavior. Although her stupid choices have brought pain and misery to many, the one’s that know her best still feel she has many redeeming qualities.
Ophelia was not born in M’Goth Tukar but her father was. She has not spent much time there but gained a vast knowledge of Orclun culture through the teachings of the Orclun human Dana. She was cast out of M’Goth Tukar and its society after getting caught by the Elven empire. She stood and watched while a handful of elven guards were horrifically burned to death by “supposedly” Dana’s fire elemental. She was considered dead to her people, not welcomed in M’Goth Tukar, and they would not talk to her directly.
Recently, she had a major part in fleeing the enslaved Orcluns and is now considered a hero to them Ophelia will be attending the meeting to voice her opinions and give support to whatever she feels is the best direction for her people. |

Ku'vass Caracalla
Originally from M'Gok Tukar, as a young man Ku'vass was horribly burned in a foundry accident that left him scarred and isolated from the rest of the tribe. After a lengthy discourse with a shaman, he chose to travel abroad alone.
His journeys have taken him to all of the accessible spiritual centers of the continent and he has likewise spent much time in study and research at the various academies and libraries as well. Separation from M'Gok Tukar was not abandonment, however, and he has returned numerous times to see his mother and friends who have remained in the homeland. In public he always wears a helm to conceal his scarred features.
After the attack and occupation of M'Gok Tukar by the Durzagon...when the news reached him...he became particularly angry and distraught and disappeared for a time. When he resurfaced he was idealistically charged to gather other M'Gok Tukar expatriates to assault and free the Orclun, but the idea started late and the momentum was never fully gathered for it to come to fruition before the ranger Tristian Vike led his group to free the people.
Ku'vass will be attending the meeting to voice his opinions and give support to whatever he feels is the best direction for his people.
((For all Orclun characters who were accessible during the occupation there is a possibility that you heard of or were even approached to join Ku'vass' attempt to gather Orclun together for an attack to remove the Durzagon from M'Gok Tukar, except Ophelia)) |

Caddo
Caddo comes from the political set at M'Gok Tukar, having greater than average belly (and therefore attractiveness), a sharp tongue but a reasonably calm demeanor, good listening skills, and a crafty sense for turning things to his advantage. He associates with those who can increase his prestige and cultivates friendships with powerful individuals. Before the Duergar enslaved M'Gok Tukar, Caddo had the respect of his clan, and was counted among the big-men who sat under Chief Borogask. He had two, sometimes three wives, and his family group had many children, some of which appeared to be his. His adventuring career allowed him to bring a wealth of goods to M'Gok Tukar, most of which was given away as gifts to maintain his status and allow him to climb politically.
Caddo's clan is also called Caddo. He is one of several males of the clan who are named thus, it being custom of the Caddo Clan to call males born into fortuitous circumstances after the clan. He is never called "Caddo Caddo", but simply Caddo, and there is seldom any confusion within the clan over who is who.
During M'Gok Tukar's enslavement, Caddo worked the Gladden farmlands like everybody else. He has lost everything: his wives, his wealth, his weapons and armor... even his children. Caddo just can't pick them out from the whelps that came out of the mines after the orclun had been liberated.
Caddo was a big man. He was one of M'Gok Tukar's proud leaders. He was nowhere near the top, but he aspired perhaps to lead his clan one day. Now he is quite adrift, and uncertain about the future of his clan and tribe.
((Caddo's thread is here.)) |
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about dying."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means lying in the ground with dirt on your face and holding your breath forever."

Gwar Sputnik Gwar Sputnik, first bastard son of Mugglok Sputnik, and older Brother of Zigzig Sputnik. Gwar grew up on the outskirts of M'Gok because his mother was a full blood orc who had been cast out from the orc clans when she escaped from slavery with Gwar and Zigzig her half orc babies. Growing up with a full blooded orc mother was hard for Gwar, but he slogged on despite the teasing he got from the other half orc children. He was never one for many words, but made many forrays into the Gladden before the final assault freed his bretheren.
((cannot make it to the meeting but sent the following letter))
Again you iz free and nuthingz culd make me more happy. Mother Sputnik and all the other orclunz too have been avenged and thiz iz GUD!, but now I zee there iz a hole where chief wuz. I am zending thiz letter to remind youz where we cumz frum. We iz the garbage left over frum thingz the humanz will never admit, we iz the dirtz under the carpet. We needz to remember our hiztory and be proud. I zuggezt a return to our rootz. We battlez and tha ztrongizt rulez tha clan.
