Whether you've got technical issues, gotten yourself stranded somewhere in-game, found a bug or have a request you'd like to make, here are the ways of making sure your message gets through to the DM and Builder team:
PM All DMs
The ability to PM all DMs is built-in to the website PM system. Simply compose a message and set the recipient to -All DMs-. It is one of the options at the very top of the drop-down list.
Note that when you send a PM to All DMs, it will not show up in your Outbox. We will try to get back to you as soon as possible, but our team is spread out over a lot of timezones, and at the moment most of our staff are currently busy working on Vives 2.
If you haven't heard back from us in a week, try poking us again once more. Just don't overdo it; we do get a lot of correspondence and we try to respond quickly, but sometimes questions/requests/etc are quite complicated and require the entire team to discuss it - which could take a while.
Technical issues
First check the Essential Information forums to see if the question can be answered there.
Your best bet is to hop on to IRC and ask for help. If that doesn't work, try posting in the Off Topic forums.
If it's something you don't want the world to know about then you can also try sending a PM to All DMs.
Bug reports
The best way to file a bug report is to use the bug report widget (or the /bug voice command) in-game. This saves the report to our database/bug tracker.
Don't post it on the forums or send a PM about it; chances are it will be missed.
If you are somewhat techie, you'll probably know that some things are 1/ hard-coded by Bioware and can't be fixed by anyone but them or 2/ are an issue with the hak packs and can't be fixed by us (it has to be fixed by the maker of the hak).
Examples:
1/ Animations. Absolutely nothing we can do about stuffed animations. 2/ Issues with models (clipping, funky danglymeshes making hats do weird things). 3/ Mobile area of effect spells (eg. Circle of Alignment, Invisibility Sphere) lagging or failing to follow the PC around.
If you're not sure, then file a report anyway.
Questions
If you've got questions on lore that isn't publically available, or need help with a character concept, or just have questions in general, then your best bet is to send a PM to All DMs.
Requests
If you have a request, such as for player housing, then PM all DMs about it and we will attempt to get back to you as soon as possible.
Feedback
We have feedback forums! They are conveniently labelled "Gameworld Feedback".
But if you don't want all the world to see what you've written (like that love letter to Mr Sprinkles) then you can always PM all DMs.
ARRRRRGH I'm stuck
First try the DM channel.
There might be no DM present, or they might be AFK or lurking, or busy somewhere else, so if that doesn't get you a response within 5 minutes, then hop on to IRC.
Lastly, try sending a PM to all DMs. Don't post on the forums. Again, that could easily be overlooked. |
