Lore: The Great River

Acting as the northern border of the dread provice of Naillamne, The Great River is the largest river in Vives. Up until the great quakes of 15016*, it was a fearsome and dreary place to visit, but its deadly terrors have since been replaced by more manageable hazards.

The Legend of Serpent's Kiss

Legend has it that the snake which forms Syn's symbol is based upon a real creature, a leviathan shadow-snake so powerful that it took the combined might of all the other gods to stop it from destroying the world, when time was new and the world was young.

The stories go on to say that the Great River is the result of the thrashing of Syn's snake as it was pinned down by the combined might of the gods. Eventually they shattered the snake into millions of pieces. but this only caused disaster, for instead of having one big creature of destruction to worry about, there were now shards of destruction everywhere in everything. Thus was entropy and death introduced to the world.
