A letter to Cedrych/Rosen Posted: 20 Jun 2006 10:31 AM |
Dear Cedrych/Rosen ( Depends who is reading), I'd like to congratulate you first off. You are the honorary winner of The Magistry's esteemed award, "Dignified Dissident". This award is given out to two random nominations per season, and it is to honor their dissident like qualities. The Magistry appreciates the fine men and women who take the time to question the world around them, and you Cedrych/Rosen are the top brass of them all! In addition to winning such an award, we have arranged for you and the other award recipient to enjoy a week of events - hosted by The Magistry in your honor.
Day One begins with a mystical journey from Brandibuck -> Buckshire under the moonlight of a magic cart. The Cart will be stocked with the finest of wines, cultured snacks, and with a warm setting. The Cart is designed to be much like a small home inside, and it is only the beginning of your journey.
Day Two shall include a tour of the fantastic water sights of Vives. Lake Ladriel, Port Royale Coast, and more.
Day Three reminds the dissidents of humbleness. A limited day will be given to the two award winners to spend their time on the training fields together. It is of utmost importance, that the two work together - the training is designed to make the two contest recipiants become closer in a military sense!
Day Four, Five, and Six compromise the bulk of the Journey and of the award, as you spend your time adventuring into the comfortable woodland areas near Brandibuck. Small encampments have been setup around the forest, with fine magical scents, dedicated members of The Magistry will make sure to keep the more ferocious monsters away. But small game will be left in the area for you to enjoy a good hunt. Should the other contestant recipient happen to be of the other sex, small cozy bed arrangements are in each tent, as well as an assortment of fine clothing for you and your other award recipient to use!
Day Seven finishes off with an extremely nice dinner in Upper Port Royale at Cafe Del Mar. Don't worry about tipping your serving maiden, The Magistry is covering this fine meal for you! From fresh dear cuts, to aged wines, imported rice, and exotic drinks - you'll be big as a wilderbeast and happy as a harper with your other award recipient!
Your adventure begins on the 28cy Slitherax,7019* at the gates of Port Royale!
A reminder that you may bring no friends on your journey, only you and the other - randomly chosen - award recipient will be attending with you. We'd also like to remind you that all nominations were chosen at random, as were the settings/prizes. |

To whom it may concern:
In regards to my recent award, I express my appreciation. As your Lord Magister, his ambassador, several others, and myself were discussing earlier, open-mindedness and tolerance (within reason) are virtues to be upheld by all upstanding individuals and organizations.
However, I currently lead a very busy life and am unable to relinquish an entire week in favor of fun, much as I would like to do so. It is with my regrets that I must refuse said 'adventure' in its entirety. One can only hope that with all due scrying and scouring, your fine association of mages may defeat the odds and find another who also opposes the Magistry's self-endowed, unexamined, and ambiguously intentioned authority.
Sincerely, Rosenellia Vimes |

To Lady Rosen, The Magistry has taken personal burden upon ourselves to relieve you of any tasks you may have for the week! Owe fee's to the inn? We shall pay them! Simply leave us with your week's tasks and we shall fulfill them immediatley! We bestow upon you lady the grace of our accepting our award. If it is of any concern, the other award recipient was a person by the name of, Cedrych. We are unsure if you know this man, but we know that you both do an excellent job to question us. We wish for all ideas to be heard, even if they are against ours! Please let us help you accomodate your week. You will have free-time during this week to do any tasks you may need as well, help us - help you!

(( Allright, allright... yeesh! ))
To the Magistry,
I am equally impressed by the coincidence of the drawing and your implicit generosity. After some deliberation, I accept with thanks.
My duties for the week include the completion of no less than (( some )) suits of iron full plate, to be donated at the Alliance office on the Northern Highway. This is not a pleasant task, thus not one that I casually delegate. However, your Lord Magister expressed some interest in forming loose ties with the Alliance. Surely a gift to this end might expedite this process and perhaps reduce my dignified dissidence in the meanwhile.
Shall we consider it an arrangement, sirs?
Sincerely, Rosenellia Vimes |

To the Magistry:
I am delighted to be the winner of said drawing. After yet another week of smiting evil, helping the weak and downtrodden, drowning in guilt and angst and generally repressing any sort of emotion I might feel, a week of luxury sounds terribly inviting and almost downright sinful.
However, as I have a busy week aheaad of me, I wonder if I might call upon you to perform some of the tasks I typically undertake:
1) Raise public concerns and questions over the creation of the Magistry 2) Let everyone know about the dangers of necromancy. 3) Enter Midor. Defeat Vidus. Leave. 4) Contribute nearly all of your money and belongings to the Seven Sisters or Small Stones.
Would sure appreciate it. Thanks a bunch.
Look forward to seeing you soon and can't wait to meet the other winner.

Sir Maistlin, The Magistry will do....its best to cover your typical tasks of which you would normally perform on your own during this week. The other award recipient was a lady by the name of Rosen, of which was also chosen by our random nominations. You both will meet at the gates of the Port Royale, where your adventures shall begin! There you will be greeted by our illustrious and honorable host of your days to come. We wish you great enjoyment while on this trip. |
