If you catch a butterfly. You can either keep it and watch it die. Or let it go and watch it fly away.

depends on what your hitting with it I suppose... for Dave... um.. aparently he cuts up frodo.. and yeah, that would probably make more of a ftumpsh sound..
but hitting against annother axe, or a sword, or someones full plate armor.. I could see that being a Fa-Tang!

Acutally, since most axes are mounted on a wooden haft, the size and shape of the head doesn't carry sound, but rather conducts the vibrations straight to the handle, where they are deadened.
Because of this lack of resonance, any "Ka-Tang" sounds would more likely come from the item struck, rather than the axe itself, which usually exudes a thick muddy "Chnk" noise, even when solidly striking other metal objects. |

John Stewart in the Daily Show: (Note, this is a politically charged show, but if you can just sit back and enjoy it, please do. I'll not support or decry his views, but since they involved D&D...)
John Stewart was mocking Mr. Bush and the Department of Energy head, if I recall correctly. The latter said, "There is no silver bullet to the energy crisis", the latter, "There is no magic wand" (or something to that exent).
Mr. Stewart follows these comments with, "Because I am only a level 3 wizard. I don't get the "Solve Energy Crisis" spell until level five."
Mr. Stewart says (after the audience laughs), "Apparently I'm not the only one who played D&D here." |

I saw that one. I nearly died. I loooooove that show. Even if I didn't hate our president and our current non-representative government, I'd still love that show.

Doh! I knew there was something I was forgetting!
I meant to post a link to that the other day... good on ya Arathon for doing it where I failed.
[edit] and now I remember why I... um... forgot. I was going to wait till the day after, so that the link wouldn't take you to the "current days comic"... but to the specific days archive. if you know what I mean.
and Halflings ARE whole fun! . |
