A Huge Problem Posted: 25 Sep 2005 05:58 PM |
I downloaded your 7 exe. files on the Vault, I installed them all, I also installed your heads and portraits. And when I approach certain NPCs and click on certain merchant ''Magic Items'' section the NwN crashes.
For me, it means that I have a hak problem. But I swear I downloaded and installed EVERY hak, one by one.
What is tha problem, could get som' help please?
Thanks in advance |

This was happening before with rapiers and now maybe there is another bad item.
It shouldn't be a problem with you, but a problem server side with one of the haks. If you didn't have all the haks, you shouldn't have been able to join.
I'm guessing Ara or pd will find this and fix it the next day or so. |

Can you tell me which merchant causes you to crash out and on which page?
My only suggestion is to start with a clean hak folder and reinstall teh haks into it to make sure that nothing is causing a problem there.

Thanks.
Is anyone else having a problem with Harold? If you happen by the Buckshire Trading Post, could you check out his store and flip through all the items and let me know?
Thanks.

Re: A Huge Problem Posted: 26 Sep 2005 09:57 AM |
I was with Dolomel when he experienced this problem - I actually had him try to reproduce the nwn client crash, and he was able to. The only thing I saw in the magic items of Harold's inventory was a few druid staffs and what looked to be a few non-magical rings. I was able to view the inventory fine without any problems. Again, this was right after Dolomel had crashed out. I tried to get as much info from him as I could, and tried to figure out what the problem was... the only thing I can think of is a hak issue. The Druid Staff's looked to be non-standard NWN items.
He also mentioned that sometimes just entering an area would crash his client - that's another hak-related problem, as far as I can tell.
My advice would be reinstall the Vives haks, make sure your override folder is cleared out and then reinstall the override files for Vives, make sure you have only *.hak files in your hak folder... and if the problem persists, maybe a reinstall of NWN? |

| If you're crashing going through transitions that sounds like it would be a hak issue. Defnitely try re-installing the haks first |

I used to crash from time to time going through transitions, it was because the "shiny water" was enabled. I doubt it has anything to do with the merchant but tought I would remind about it.

Re: A hak Problem Posted: 27 Nov 2005 03:56 PM |
| Well after you have all the haks downloaded and ya got all your folders on your desktop. each folder has one file. When you run them it should install them automatically. My friend went through the same thing yesterday. On these you shouldnt have to manipulate folders like some haks. Hope maybe this helps ya. If thats what you did then I am at a loss. |
