Problem with potions Posted: 30 Aug 2005 03:35 AM |
Not sure if this has been mentioned (don't know where it should be posted), or if it's actually "designed" but for the last few days I've been playing (was away for a week) I haven't been able to use a single potion. Didn't used to do this.
Every potion I use fails and gives an unusual result. A few of them actually turned my char kind of semi invisible (could kill things without them fighting back!).
Char is Jachan Reyer. It was fun for a bit being able to kill giants and stuff without risk or harm, but it's cheating really, and I would just like to be able to use potions. |

It is rumoured that there are places of stability in the midst of magical chaos that the world is experiencing.
Whether that is true or not remains to be seen.

Please note that this is a bug with the wild magic scripting and exploiting this could make the staff very unhappy.
PM send to Paul with more details. |

I’m my opinion I would not say it is a bug, if you go around killing monsters for exp; it is only a matter of time before one sees you and kills you. Then you lose all that exp you gained (and probably more).
I thought it was a bug as well, until I saw some one get killed while affected. Though saying that, perhaps the duration should be something other than permanent. ;) |

I'll fix it.

hey that's not funny! Johe was in the crypts and got into a bit of trouble so he activated his sequensor cloak, and time stopped, he was slowed and he turned into a chicken! That was embarrassing! Running away from a fight slowly looking like a chicken sheesh! He'll never hear the end of it from Raff :P |

-This- I agree with 100% if a pc cannot even use a potion it is pure carp for hostile npcs/creatures to use magic when a simple freaking potion somehow doesnt even work. |

Re: Problem with potions Posted: 30 Aug 2005 02:22 PM |
Potions dont work cos they are magic. They contain a magic spell. As per the 3rd ed rules.
And wild magic does effect monsters. Some may be able to overcome it, but it does effect them.
Cheers,

Re: Problem with potions Posted: 30 Aug 2005 02:25 PM |
| Ok must be a whole different wild magic setup than last time. Last time a potion of heal went goofy for one of my low level PCs , while simple bandit mages cast away undisturbed. |
