Questions and Thanx

I was wondering why when I get a tell from a GM/player, the portrait/name doesn't match the name on the tell I send when I click their portrait? Am I not doing it right? Or is it that one name is their NWN login and the other is the character/DM name? (confused yet?)
Cause I wanted to say thanx to Twinkles for helping me out RP style when I was in a jam. So if Twinkles was the right name...thanx....i was chuckling the whole time.

My other question is....Do I just run around roleplaying everything in emotes and such even tho no one else is around? If I don't, will I miss stuff? Are the GMs always watching everyone?

Yeah, if you click on, just for example, my character Cora Delvings portrait, you would then see in the dialogue line /tp "BKatt"
which is my NWN player log in name.
What really throws a wrench in to the works is when the player log in is not the name they used to register on the forums here. (just for example: Connavar is played by NWN log in name: sheldon foss, who is registered on the forums as Anubistat)
So if you want to send someone a PM here on the forums, it wont neccesarily work to look for the plyer name that was attached to their character IG.

Hi there, it was me being Twinkle .
When a DM possesses another creature or NPC to roleplay, the clicking on the portrait thing doesn't work unfortunately. Then the best thing to so is to send a message in the DM channel in game. Click where it says "talk" and change this to "DM" you won't see the message after you've typed it, but any DM will. But obviously only DMs who are logged in will see the message, so sometimes if there are no DMs logged in, no-one will see.
A far as role-play style goes, that's totally up to you. Some people walk around emoting everything whether they are with others or not and some don't. DMs are not always watching, but when they are in they can see all of the conversation all over the server, so can reward you for RP even if they weren't on the same screen as you. Plus you are more likely to get ad-hoc xp awards the more RP you do, whether you are alone or with people.
And lastly, no people don't always use the same forum name as their character names, which can make it confusing to find people.

Solitaire....Yer gonna think this is funny.....well....maybe.....
I had to go back down the well cause I thought that I needed to get water for Shira there. You know...to have her guide me to Midor. But it didn't work. So I was stuck there again and the 1500000 spiders kilt me.
