2 weeks on Vives....colour me hooked Posted: 07 Aug 2005 07:39 PM |
Hi guys,
Without wishing to come across all gushy, I'd just like to say how fantastic Vives is.
As an outsider coming into NWN MP for the first time really, but wanting to roleplay, Vives was exactly what I was looking for. Friendly characters (if a little insane on occasion) a gorgeous world, a rich sense of history and culture, an identity, a fluid political and ideological situation....DM quests, DM's being around even when there aren't quests, who have some fun occasionally, a brilliant crafting system, which has me hooked right now. Even stuff like the way the XP system works, exploration XP, and the fact that death is harsh, and to be feared (try telling that to Norran though. His face has just about returned to a normal colour after going bright red with dying so much). All of this serves to make Vives....well, just wonderful. The PHB, although slightly out of date with regard to the characters mentioned, has been massively helpful as well in filling me in on some of the history of the place.
As well as that, I haven't met a single character who I've not enjoyed role-playing with. I've still got a lot to learn when it comes to role-playing, and also of the mechanics of the Vives stuff, and even NWN MP stuff on occasion - but it's a hugely enjoyable experience right now. I've even been hit with the XP stick a few times, which is nice.
Anyway, I'm here to stay, obviously. But I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who works, and plays, on Vives. |

I'm glad you enjoy it as much as the rest of us :)
And don't worry about deaths, look at some people like Juylina and Muga, they die all the time :P |

"A little crazy at times" Why do I get the feeling I've heard this before... And the PHB isn't TOTALLY out of date! Hans Wilhelm is still around! :D (Though few people know him as such anymore)
Glad you like the world, hope you enjoy it, and don't feed the animals. :) |

Friendly characters (if a little insane on occasion)
I am shocked, horrified and scandalised by this accusation. By no means are my characters a little insane. A lot insane, perhaps. Utterly insane, even. But a little insane? Hmph!
...Welcome aboard, man. Don't bother looking for the exit. Even if you felt like leaving, you won't be able to. But seriously, who'd want to leave? |

And if you try, they'll hunt you down and find you.
Trust me.

dang straight, James. You of all people should know that, having been viciously and mercilessly dragged back to Vives in recent times.
Let that be a lesson to you all!

Heh, welcome, and great to know yer enjoying Vives.
Btw, the above kind of feedback is perfect for attracting other new players to Vives. So if you would be willing, please do post it to the bio boards. Either in your own thread, or reply to this one:

And that goes for any other newcomers who've been enjoying what Vives has to offer, please do spread the word. As feedback from newcomers is really useful for attracting other people who are unsure about joining such a well established world.
Cheers,
Sirac |

| Hmmm. Having a bit of trouble registering on those forums....I'll keep trying though, and post as soon as I'm able. I guess I probably should post seeing as that thread was what convinced me to check Vives out in the first place... :) |
