***Week long Event for new and low level characters***

From August 14th to August 21st inclusive we are going to be asking that no character of higher level than 9th log onto the server unless specifically requested to do so. Please make sure your room rentals and suchlike are taken care of before then! :0)
We would also ask that where possible, you start new characters, and not play a character of higher level than 6 unless you obtain those levels during the course of the week. If a DM is not around to do so, please send a polite PM to any players logging in as high lvl PCs in this week, just letting them know about this week long "rule".
This is from the idea suggested on the player forums, thanks for the great idea.
On Sunday 14th August the DM team will be running a Vives 101 for new players. This will probably incorporate an ooc DM led tour of some of the key spots of Vives, including taking in some scenery, and being shown places of note. And a discussion of any number of subjects, aimed primarily at newer players, but also perhaps of worth to existing players. Any player ideas of content for this 101 are welcome, though we may well not be able to use it all.
After the Vives 101 event, there will be a series of IC events aimed at low level characters. Expect a calendar / schedule of when these events will run. Including DM interaction for many of the well known static quests. And some more unique storylines as well. Expect a lot of DM activity throughout this week. All we would ask in return is that as many existing players as possible play low level characters, and do your utmost to meet up with other PCs if IC to do so...and make new players welcome, show them around. We will keep the entire week IC, but feel free to let new players know via tells that if they have any questions, feel free to ask.
I intend to keep this thread reserved for announcements directly relating to what will be ocurring over the course of this week. So I will open another thread for player ideas and input. Please post any such there. ANY ideas from players about events during this week, and things you think would help this be a success would also be welcome in this thread.

The Vives 101 will probably be run in several installments during the course of the week. The first installment will run between 2pm to 6pm on Sunday 14th August. And after that there will be an ooc tour with DMs jumping you around some places of note. From important places to know about when starting out, to some of the amazing areas we have IG, including some of the hardest to get to, most epic level areas. See you there...
