Ladies, gentlemen and those of indeterminate gender and race ....... The Vives team is proud to announce ....... *drum rolls* ........
Vives 101 week.
Between August 14th to August 21st inclusive we are asking that no character of higher level than 9th log onto the server unless specifically requested to do so. Please make sure your room rentals and suchlike are taken care of before then! .Any high level players mentioned below are formally invited to those events their names are against
We also ask that where possible, you start new characters, and not play a character of higher level than 6 unless you obtain those levels during the course of the week. If a DM is not around to do so, please send a polite PM to any players logging in as high lvl PCs in this week, just letting them know about this week long "rule". .
All times shown are UK times = GMT +1
The week's event schedule will be as follows :
SUNDAY 14TH AUGUST
14.00 - 19.00 : Vives 101 OOC session/Q&A/tour. This will incorporate a primarily ooc meet up where DMs and experienced players will be around to give valuable information about playing in Vives. From what all the widgets do, to little tips on rp'ing in Vives (and any PW), to crafting, our own unique xp system, travel and how to get around Vives...basically a wide variety of information that will help any new player find their feet as swiftly as possible.
Will conclude with a DM led tour of some of the amazing areas Vives has to offer. And some of the important places for new players to get to know. [Full agenda posted below]
20.00 - onwards : Johe's Guyver Tour A tour of his very own 'guyver route' led by Vives' one and only thief who isn't a thief. Will be a player run event, from a top quality rp'er showing a bit more of Vives. Johe is a PC that knows just about everyone, and is very friendly. A good contact for new players to get to know. High level players invited : Johe Jaxon

It will give a chance to see some areas of the dwarven homeland normally only by the dwarves themselves. And get involved in an ongoing dwarven plot. Especially suited to dwarven PCs, PCs likely to be friendly to the dwarves, and any interested in history and scholarly pursuits. High level players invited : Coruva Lorehammer & Balthor Mountainhand

And you will have the chance to meet Ilyana Fiirhaart, high priestess of Naruth, and her bodyguard, Muga Bugbreath...along with other Naruthian followers. SUNDAY 21ST AUGUST
19.00 : Ferein Evening of Song and Tales Exactly what it says, all noteworthy elven NPC's will be in attendance, as will a few invited PCs. Also to come, but with times/dates not confirmed as yet:
A tour of MGok Tukar, homeland of the half orcs. Including learning some of their history, and perhaps engaging in some tests of strength and battle prowess. Likely to be run on a US weekday evening.
A paintballing competition. With slings. No armour or AC items will be allowed. One hit and you're out speedball style competition. With a prize for the winner. Also likely to be at a US time.
A hunt for some rare and very needed ingredients across the land. Deciphering some rather abstract references to find what is needed. This is part of an ongoing epic level quest, that will give low level characters a chance to get involved, and learn about this quest for later chapters. |

No need to be level 9 or less for this event. At the event we will ask that no questions are asked "out loud", any questions should be asked in the DM channel to stop the main chat area getting too "spammed". Just to add, if any of these topics go over their alotted time, we may hold specific longer 101 events to catch up on what was missed. e.g. a "Vives Roleplay 101" if we find there is just too much to get through in the alotted time above, more on this will be posted after the session if needed. |

How did this go?
I would like to make some of these events but sadly I am working at that time. Anyone got a summary or game log to share with us who didn't make it. |

Well, as far as the guyver tour goes, I'll answer your question and thank those who stuck out the guyver tour in one post :) I had a great time, although I was a bit on edge, I have never been real good at handling large groups of people, but I think and hope fun was had by all for the most part Although we may have to change the name to "Close but no gitar" :) |

Re: Vives 101 session Posted: 15 Aug 2005 01:46 PM |
I don’t know about anyone else, but I had a blast as Anna Marie. She is soooo not Cora that its a little bizarre playing her.
Signs you have been role playing to much: you start a different character and end up going to a psychiatrist to sort out some issues.
*smirks*
But anyway, for a group of low levels like that, I thought we held up really well in the places we went. (course, maybe that’s because I stayed to the rear and out of the fray)
And I had a lot of fun being annoyed with that big ugly, smelly, singing voice like a dieing pig, half-orc... as well as lots of other great banter with the PC’s there.
Yup… definitely fun.
I was just sad that I had to leave so suddenly. There were still plenty more insults to throw at Raboo.
