Big Thank You Posted: 05 Apr 2005 02:37 PM |
I thought there was already one of these posts elsewhere but I couldnt find it.
Anyway, i just wanted to say a big thank you to Erik Hammerfall for his playing of Vurbag today.
Not only did he give me a great scare but he was willing to play out the rather trivial but relevant scene of Rae-Lana's fatigue and was very enjoyable to hold a conversation with as she recovered, most notably about the discovery of copper conductive electricity.
I am also grateful of the commoraderie as we died together with the unexpected greeting of the Frost Giants in Icy Vale.
Thanks to whomever put them there. As if they Trolls at 5th level werent enough.
Anyway, thanks Eric for you great RPing. Sorry if I seemed distracted in parts but I am very grateful. Hope our characters meets again more often. |

I thought the invasion of ther frost giants was excellent. I'm only sorry I caught the tail end of it - it looked to have been very good indeed! Sorry you got a bit smashed by them - and I nearly died (litterally) when I came accross vurbag's body on the great plains and then tried to res him, forgetting it was the great plains. Boom! Nearly killed me and the other two people standing around me! Great stuff! |

I'm sorry, but that was *soooooooooooooooooo* funny.
It was the highlight of my evening. |

Now thats just mean.
I had only just made 5th level and you hand us 10 or so Frost giants right on the other side of the exit. I was dead before I knew what was going on.
I think the PCs should be allowed to DM the DMs for a day. Something like a trading places for charity thing. Now that would be fun.

I was only watching this (for the most part) but Ras raising Vurbag and then 'healing' him with a fireball was the funniest dang thing I've seen in ages.

Heh, my 10th level found the giants... Escaped death by a hair.. Went back with invisible, got through by a hair.. Then went back with the party to die an oh so wonderful death at -67 Hp... The questions the DM's had to be asking.. "Is that PC Mad?" Perhaps.. Perhaps... |

You know, I forget every dang time when I get to the great plains. And it's never something trivial. I mean - it's a reasonably safe area most of the time, so there's not normally a need to cast there.
The other day I was sitting at the campfire with someone and talking, it got dark, so I though 'I know - I'll cast light to make it look better for us here, as standing here with my light radiating weapon would just look unfriendly'. Next thing I know, I've burnt the other guys face off with burning hands or colour spray or something.
The bandits one time actually started doing me some damage and so I thought 'Right you lot - you're getting it now'. Next thing I know - my hammer of might did more damage to me than them AND turned me invisible.
Last night though, as soon as I saw Vurbag dead there I just thought 'Quick - he's one as Rasp's allies - must be the Red swords, get him up'. Never even occured to me about being in the plains. And the res worked fine though! It was the heal - magnanamously done on him first, despite us both being on near death - which blasted us all into near oblivion. In fact, it did actually blast Vurbag into oblivion again! dang - I AM that party-hacker!
It was fun though guys. |

A DM. *nods sagely*
The whole thing was pretty funny. First the Giant King running around me a little confused like a hasted rabbit, then seeing an army of 30 odd giants coming through the gates of Icy Vale and finally reaching the gates of Midor, a righteous sword telling me how you could be so insensitive and abusing your powers (oh the irony)...it was a constant running, killing, resting and wondering for how long this will go on. Thank you for the big last fight, I had fun to watch my mage standing in the corner with a bunch of giants falling to her spells until her premonition gave up (I did not expect a righteous sword mystic would raise her, but I won´t complain...) and the others storming the vale bravely for a few times until noone was left standing.
And I just wondered what the heck you´re doing with Rasputin, Jack, when Vurbag was dead...then alive...and dead after another few seconds, and Rasputin muttering weird things when I finally arrived there again. :) |

Well I must admit it did make me wanna go grab my other mage and seeking unethical vengence (which I know is metaring before anyone says anything).
Of course the only problem with this was he is also dead at the hands of their Earthly cousins!! |

I was rolling when that happened.. and found it hard to play my PC as "upset" over getting blasted by the fireball as well, it was just so funny |
