Setting out for the Depths of Lynaeum

*A note left in the Unicorn Inn*

Lads'n lasses. Good ole Cletus again. Me ole heart felt the urge t'set out on me own n'explore some wee parts of ye world. Well, found a nice li'l area, nay so good for a picnic aye, but a bit of a party t'same.

If ye wish t'join me, we'll be settin' out bright'n early f't'fallen city o' Lynaeum, n'inta da depths of ye catacombs t'be fully explored n'thoroughly looted.

Cletus

PS: Who's the greatest dwarf?

((I'm looking at something bright and early Saturday Morning, Roughly 9:30ish EST, (which'll put us at 2:30ish GMT.) I'll be getting back from New York City sometime around 3AM EST, but I hope to sleep on the ride home and be moderatly well rested for this, and leave plenty of time for adventuring, as I have a game of diplomacy sometime afterwards with some friends. I'm looking at an adventuring group of lvls 5-10. It'll be a challenge, but as long as we don't act like the SWAT team we should be fine. If that's not good for you, we can look into other times, but next week is Easter Weekend, and I'd rather not hit on that))

Edrik woke and walked from his room in the Unicorn, heading for a warm bowl of oats in the common room, as is his habit in the morning. But on his way to the table that he frequents, he noticed Cletus' letter. He read it through, struggling at times to make out Cletus' meaning.

When finished, Edrik put his hand to the letter and smiled with some combination of relief and comraderie, muttering under his breath, "Cletus, old lad, it is good to see you recovered your health. I owe you a debt for coming to Midor's aid when I asked, and though you head to a place I have no knowledge of, I'll stand by your side."

Edrik chuckled to himself and added, "And then we'll have to work on your penmanship. You write common much like you speak it."

((Any other takers? I'd hate to wake up expecting a beefy party, though if worst comes to worst I'll set out with just Edrik and CletusSmiley I'll call it a "People building skills exercise"))

Salt joined Edrik at the table, with a bowl of gruel spooned from the same pot. Bleary and unwashed, his thin hair spun in a cowlick where he lay on it, he commented “…good mush today.” And he chewed it well.

Edrik handed him the note from the Dwarf Cletus, which Salt held at arm’s length to read. Chewing, he nodded. “You pen a response? Interesting ruins, but certain things have come to reside in this place.” Swallow. “I have been there once, but I was accompanied by a hulking mercenary named Vurbag Usko. Half-orc, fleet of foot you know. All I really saw was the bodies that he left behind…” Salt trailed off, thinking.

((Not sure I can make it, but I’ll log on if I’m able…))

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about dying."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means lying in the ground with dirt on your face and holding your breath forever."

((It was fun - even if I did only get there in time to help scoop up the pieces and carry them back to the 7 sisters. We went on to help poor little Nush learn about his father, despite getting turned to stone ourselves! Cheers guys!))
