Miramil’s First Impressions
Posted: 27 Jan 2005 08:08 AM
((I wasn’t sure where else to put this. I have been scribbling notes of Miramil’s adventures ever since I began, and I thought it would be good to put some of them up. Hereinafter are contained her first impressions of your PCs. Hee hee hee.))

~*~

Sir Peter is a knight who is so devoted to the Just Hand that he cannot go for ten seconds without using that phrase—“The Just Hand”. Sometimes he just gets sad and I do not know why.

Sam is serious, which is not unusual for an Elf. He does not like trouble, which is very odd indeed because he runs everywhere without waiting for us and is always the first to greet trouble. Hello, trouble!

Ali likes cute men, which would explain why I never run into her and Sam when I am far from civilisation; I think she would go into withdrawal if she did not meet a new man every day, and Ettins and Orcs and things do not count as cute men.

Trent is very obsessed with rules and does not like people breaking them. He does not even like it if people mention the possibility of doing so.

Zach has a very long name for a human—almost as long as mine! He is very sneaky and can vanish without magic, which is a neat trick. It sometimes makes it hard to talk to him because you do not know if you should keep talking or if he has left.

Chia knows everything about everything, but she keeps saying “that is a dangerous place”. Well that makes everything dangerous, I guess, so it must all cancel out.

Johe is in the same profession as me, only he is a specialist (“guyver” is the correct terminology). He knows some neat magic that is very handy for not getting eaten, squishified or hacked up.

Vrodo is a Half-Orc who speaks really well and likes to smoke his pipe. He is looking for others of his kind but he says the ones he has met do not speak as nice as he does.

Shalee is a sad lady with a nice kitty named Solo. She is very sick but maybe she will get better soon.

Azrael has a spiffy sword with two flaming blades, and he goes WHOOOSH! SLAAASH! and makes monsters die quick. He says that the Fire Giants respect him, which is also spiffy because it means he has nothing to fear of being squishified.

Bereil is very smart, even if he has never heard of Emperor Balthazag or Bollywop Boople and does not know how to un-tortoise people. He is very businessy and thinks his beard makes him look sage-like. However, the Emperor reckons it needs more grey to be properly sage-like, which should not take too long anyway because humans age quickly. Furthermore, the correct term is sagacious, but that is okay because Bereil is smart and I am sure he will figure that out on his own some day.

Blanche is Sir Peter’s friend and she smiles a lot.

Bereil’s pixie familiar knows fun tricks and is nice to play with. I forgot to ask what her name was, though.

Anarion is a smart man who knows that badgers are pure evil. I am concerned, though, that Bereil may eat him.

Bob is a nice doggie! But he scares the Emperor.

Lysse is an archaictologist, but she has not heard of Bollywop Boople or Emperor Balthazag either. She has heard of sky kingdoms, though, and also of books with moving pictures and words.

~*~

((And now some NPCs of note that I just had to put in))

Bates is a nice one-eyed man from Port Royale who drinks lots. He is good at telling stories, even if it is difficult to interpret what he is saying because he slurs his words a lot.

Ungugla Da Pretty lives in Mmm-gok Tookarr and she is the bestest cook ever! Only, she refuses to part with her recipes. I suspect that she might have helped write that Orcish Cookbook that they have in Ye Hole in Da Ground in Brandibuck Vale. I have not asked her if she is literate, though; the topic never came up.

I wish more people would write lists such as these. It is very fun for everyone to see how a certain character percieves the world around them.

Kudos to you Fictrix!

Macha was very polite to the Emperor, and he was very impressed.

Clanneged had not heard of the Emperor either, confirming my suspicion that all traces of the Emperor’s history have been wiped from reality. He knows some super-spiffy spells, and Bereil says they are better than his.

Poor Arcane thinks that he is bad luck, which is incorrect. See, bad luck is misremembering a Flame Arrow spell and casting Fireball instead whilst in a swamp full of volatile gases, thereby creating a crater several miles in diameter. For a knight he does not seem to have a very high opinion of himself. I think he just needs to find himself a nice quiet hobby to improve his self-esteem, like sewing teddy bears or something.

Pelham is a man with an eyepatch, like that sailor Bates, only not as drunk or talkative. He does not seem to like scholarly mages very much.

Orange is a well-dressed chap from Port Royale who has actually heard of the Emperor! The Emperor was very impressed by him. He is a very good storyteller and understands the need to make everything about life dramatic and interesting.

((Guess I know what you'd think of Quin then. Ask Sara Torn about her feelings towards Ice.))

((If I meet her, I will.))

((Lots and lots of names today. Huzzah!))

~*~

Mamarmarillian ((Marillian)), I think, is rather scared of the Emperor, and I do not know why. I mean, it is not as if he is going to eat her or anything.

Aasmund carries around a big knife but he says he is not a thwacker of monsters. He sings lots, and very nicely too.

Sola is another lady with a big cat! Kitties must be popular. Bob would have a field day meeting all these new people, I think.

The lady whom Aasmund calls Kim is a Cleric of Midoran, and an angry one at that. This is not a good thing because she wields a big axe. I do not know who or what she is mad at, but they had better watch out!

Jessup is full of good advice, and got us out of trouble even though we were not in trouble in the first place. *Phew*

Romulus has had to shorten his name because the tallfolk are not capable of remembering it, which is a pity because true names (ie. the Gnomish variety) serve a functional purpose. What a sad thing to lose. I mean, I am only young so mine is only nine words long and doesn’t say anything much. To lose more than four hundred years’ worth is like losing all of Vives except for the Four Winds Inn and saying, no, no, that is still Vives, nothing has been removed or lost.

Paximus really likes nature, to the extent that he wishes he were a tree pretending to be a person rather than just a normal person.

Conrad had some really weird questions about the Emperor. He is into boxing, and says that when he hits things they make a noise other than “THWACK!”

(( Note: these are people she has formally met and knows enough about for me to write silly comments. That would be why Dante and Glordong aren’t on the list. ))

Angelius is an Archon, thereby proving that books are indeed in desperate need of updating, for I have met many impossible mythical creatures now that are said to be nonexistent.

Gabriel is obsessed with shortening already-short names, like most tallfolk I know. He is one spiffy swordsman, and he goes SLAASH! with his sword. It may not be flaming and double-bladed but I think he has more skill than Azrael.

Pes ((Pesmerga)) is another spiffy swordsman, and looks very scary when he is wearing his scary helmet with his spiky black armour. He is a little silly, though, because he seems to think that Johe is as scary as him. This is clearly incorrect, as Johe does not wear a scary helmet and is not a mysterious and brooding sort of person who revels in slaying things.

Fenris is really big and tough and strong, and smooshes things good with his big axe.

Rasputin is a nice man who is always out to help people. He has a habit of turning up at the right place at the right time, which is good, because it means he should be able to turn up in time to rescue his brother from those giganticous spiders.

Tolith seems to have a neverending supply of blessings from Bregodim, which is good because we really needed them after those naughty undead at the Keep whomped us.

Juylina is rather obsessed with fashion, and has this idea that she is the only person that red looks good on. Right. Oh-kay...

Bennigan thought the Emperor was a hat! Um. Have I already said “oh-kay” today? I think I will say it again. Oh-kay...

Melinda was under the impression that her name was long, but now she knows that names should be as long as possible and should keep on growing and growing.

The man that Ali called Taulath is... um... *pause*... I’ll get back to you on that one when he actually says something.

~*~

((NPC list))

Gorlath and his naughty undead whomped us good. Ah hehh... we aren’t going to upset them again any time soon.

Cal wanted to turn the Emperor into soup. Oh-kay. Needless to say, the Emperor was Not Impressed.

Aim is the very opposite of Cal. She had never petted a tortoise before, so she had the experience of a lifetime when the Emperor and I met her.

Zell appeared very impressed by something (I think the Emperor*) when I met him and he was rather speechless.

((*It was actually her full name, not the Emperor, as anyone who’s ever heard the name will know. It has a tendency to make people’s jaws drop or stun then speechless. However, I only ever say the full name IG, so muhahahahaha if you have not heard it.))

Jake seems to hang around the Northern Highway a lot. I think he feels left out because every time he arrives, we are discussing something weird, and he seems a mostly sane sort of person.

Despite the fact that she dresses all in black like a shady person, Avari does not seem to have a shady personality. I think we scared her away with our tactics practice. We are pretty fearsome when we do that; one could say we are more terrifying than ants.

Alton seems to think there is something crazy about a tiny tortoise Emperor persistently riding atop a Gnome’s head. However, he did eventually address the Emperor properly, so I think he has come to his senses.

Vandle is not terribly fond of Midor, even though he says he used to be a champion of Midoran. He has this opinion that badgers would be considered heretics by followers of Midoran, but we were unable to confirm this hypothesis as the badgers we asked took offense at the question and attacked.

Gasher appears to be overawed by the Emperor, and believes that he was sent by The Mother ((Elbereth)). I am not sure what gave him this idea. I mean, all the Emperor did was chomp on Gabe’s nose and thus restore him to life.

Bunt is an all-singing, all-dancing Kobold Bard who speaks with a Dwarven accent. Any rumours of him being a monkey stealer are clearly malicious and unfounded, as he has never succeeded in stealing a monkey, and furthermore was actually asked by the monkey to do said stealing. The Emperor was relieved to hear that he was not a tortoise stealer either, though a bit puzzled to discover that Bunt did not know what a tortoise was.

~*~

((NPC list))

The Dire Badger outside Syl Caverns clearly took offense at being called a heretic, and is now sadly dead as a result. For the record, Mister Dire Badger ran under Gasher’s foot and it is his own fault he got stepped on. Likewise for his two shady Badger friends, who were waiting in the wings as backup and were equally uncooperative.

Faldan seems to have lots of problems keeping his armour clean, despite the fact that it was raining bucketloads when we met him outside Port Royale. Funnily enough, he said that Ali had not called him a cute man when she met him, so for a moment we did not think we were talking about the same Alianda.

Tuck is... erm... uh... I’ll get back to him too if he actually says something.

Sara goes whoooosh and is way, way faster than Sam and she does all this spiffy glowing stuff and whoooaaa. I get the impression she dislikes Mister Arcane, which is strange, because although he is morose and sometimes jumps out from nowhere wearing a scary helmet and pointing a BIG SWORD straight at you, he is not a bad man. Everybody bosses her around, which I find unusual. It must be a Human thing to boss children around. Gnomish children are allowed to do whatever they like and figure things out for themselves, even if that means accidentally blowing themselves up. Hm. I guess that is why there are so few of us.

The person that Melina called Lil is yet another guyver. She is very sensible and stays well away from trouble when she sees it.

The man Vrodo called Kalarr was under the impression that he had scared us, which is simply not true, because as I have mentioned before, you need a properly scary helmet to really scare people. Therefore he is a not-scary-man.

Mister Grrr ((Grhatur)) almost speaks Orcish as well as Bunt. Almost. He does not say much in Common, but when he does he says really smart things—like when he made up a rhyme for Bunt’s new song about those naughty badgers.

The man that Luther called Byron has a habit of stating the obvious, such as “You have a turtle on your head”. The Emperor very graciously forgave him for mistaking him for a turtle (which, as we all know, is a sea-dwelling creature with flippers, as opposed to a land-dwelling creature with feet or an amphibian that spends time equally in water and on land—the latter being tortoises and terrapins, respectively). Mister Byron seemed rather stunned during that entire first conversation, the poor thing, and was probably over-awed by the Emperor’s majesty. That is perfectly understandable, which is why the Emperor forgave him. There, there, Mister Byron. You are not the first to be overawed by the Emperor.

The woman Byron called Eliana seems to think that the best thing to do when Mister Arcane comes up with a plan is to RUN AWAY! Oh-kay. I had to explain that any plan had to be approved by the Emperor first anyway. I mean, it is common sense to wait for his decision, is it not?

The man Byron called Luther spoke to the Emperor, and the Emperor actually spoke back to him! Wow. That is a first. I bet Romulus will want to know all about it, as he doubted that anyone was capable of communicating with the Emperor. Now Romulus will know to listen to what Sir Trent says.

Vurbag is a Half-Orc who has a big spiffy flaming axe that he uses to fry bacon. Wow. That is a practical use for a flaming weapon I had not considered.

Chandler is a man whom Sara says does not make sense most of the time because he is very clever but forgets that everyone else is not. However, he had not heard of the Emperor either.

Thomas has a beard that I think Bereil would envy, for it is long and thick and white, and thus properly sagacious. It is really nice that Theus gives him advice, because I think he would get really confused if his god did not guide him.

Fri’el seems to have a bizarre fear of Gnomes and thought that I would eat her and tear up all her dresses. Oh-kay. However, I think I have cured her of this, as she was brave enough to throw a stick at me and attempt a weak threat before we parted. That is good, in a way. People should not be scared of Gnomes. Well, unless they are the kinds of Gnomes she mentioned.

The lady Alianda (the other one) is a very serious person who seems like she needs a vacation or something. You cannot always be embarking on deadly dangerous quests of utmost importance, you know. Sometimes you just need to tap your god on the shoulder and go, “Excuse me Mister Theus, I really need a break, can you send weird dreams to someone else for a bit?”

Elrith is a shady lady who seems to do an awful lot of smirking. I do not think she and Sola like each other very much, since they always seem to be on the verge of shooting each other.

Garrak is a very practical person who says all the right things and asks all the right questions. The Emperor says everyone should be more like him, but I am not so sure; I mean, if more people were like him then everyone would wear black... oh. They already do.

Nu’men was very nice to the Emperor and did not call him a turtle. I think he is the Lord of Nethar’u or something like that. That is nice. The Emperor had not met any important people before, so he grumbled less about the trip we took down there after meeting Nu’men.

The Solar and the big huge lava dragon ((Hellfire Wyrm)) blew themselves up rather quickly. Erm. It is hard to form an opinion of people who rapidly blow themselves up within minutes of meeting them. I am sure Gorlath will not be happy about the dragon carcass outside his front lawn.

Xaranthir is rather schizophrenic and, erm, yes. That is all.

The lady called Solitaire seemed a little hysterical. I guess schizophrenic men who appear out of nowhere have an unbalancing effect on others.

Bhrodi has not yet been “It” in tag and may be in danger of being tagged by Sam someday. Watch out Bhrodi!

Anarion and I met Eowarar briefly at the Buckshire Trading Post. However, we fear that Mrs McGillicutty has gotten to him. What a terrible fate.

Christian is another person from Port Royale, although he says he prefers Ferein a lot more, because he is Half-Elven and he likes the Elf half better than the Human half. Meh. A city is a city.

Ithbrael is new to the area of Brandibuck Vale, which is evident in some of his customs. For instance, that custom about immediately asking for a favour after being introduced.

Kilkis is super hyperactive and always wants to go somewhere to do something exciting. He is so hyperactive it took him about two days to stand still long enough to say what his name was. He has a fairy named Lubina and a kitty named Mew. I guess kitties are popular companions.

Tristan is the epitome of silliness*! Eeh! STOP POKING THE EMPEROR! Oooh, Bunt is SO going to bite his ankles for that.

((*He really is. He gets sillier every time Miramil sees him. What is this, a competition?? She’s barmy enough on her own!))

Her Supreme Holiness the Almighty Immortal Invincible Zalzabar the Amazing, formerly known as Isabella is... oh. Never mind. She was Fri’el. I guess all archmages are schizophrenic. That, or holding a glowy staff can make any person schizophrenic. I should warn Mister Bereil.

Elvalia speaks Elven a lot. That is because she is an Elf.

The twins ((Zadush and Vadush)) are really good at cooking and they cooked a cow as big as a house, YUS! Mister Bereil thought that the Ettin’s foot was a bit too dubious for his liking, though, despite having never tried Ettin’s foot before in his life.

Quin can control the weather and he made it all windy and snowy and thundery in the desert! The Emperor was impressed.

Xixili gets confused really easily. There, there. It is a trait of paladins, I think. Mister Trent and Arcane are the same; they say “...” a lot.

Vinduil Di’malyno is a really popular celebrity man and Attycus and I didn’t even know until do’taloc k’larna came up and practically begged him for an autograph.

Wow, so many people with split personalities. It must be trendy or something. Andreana, for instance, is Sara but doesn’t know she’s Sara so she acts like she’s not when she is.

Dante ((that's Dante Vanderbrook)) is really into swashbuckling and stuff. Yeah! Buckle that swash! Or was it swash that buckle?

Shadow is a nice little kitty belonging to the Songsingers. He is also a bit drunk after that buttermilk which wasn’t really buttermilk. I wonder what Mister Bennigan put in it; it cannot be nice for the rug, as the poor kitty was really tipsy and looked like he wanted to throw up.

Mandrake big thing. Mir owe life. Well, okay, not anymore. He says I am off his list. He whomps goooood but he seems a little unpopular with everyone else. I guess calling Mister Brodie “stink thing” did not create a good first impression, and it only went downhill from there.

Shihaya’zad takes lots of notes about everything. She is really going to have to get a bigger book. That, or get Oscar to carry lots of books for her. Should spiders even be trusted with books? Hmm...

Mara casts spells that she says go “ppfftt” but with practice they will probably become spells that go “KABAMM!”

Lani was the only one of us who did not get squishified by invading Ettins. She obviously has her priorities straight, as she was very mad that the Ettins had ruined all the pretty flowers in the Vale.

Iborusael is a lot less talkative than Angelius, which is how you tell the difference between them. He, um, does not seem to like fairies very much and will charge off after them for no apparent reason.

Hubert is a penguin that Tristan accidentally summoned one day. He tries to wear Hubert on his head but that is just silly; penguins are not configured for such a function.

~*~

((NPCs and/or DM-controlled))

Those Pale Scary Men ((erm, some sort of Maldovian Vampire Spawn, I think)) need to work on getting the punchline to their pranks correct. I mean, appearing and then disappearing too quickly for anyone to notice...? I don’t get it. If they turned themselves into chickens or something before disappearing then the joke would make sense.

That naughty ghoul ((Abyssal Ghoul)) smackified Sam and I when we were all set to be nice and chat with Mister Gukathul and all. It went raarrr chomp chomp munch munch. Silly ghoul. Ghouls come in all flavours too! Raaarr! Claudia and Eliana and I went back to teach that naughty ghoul some manners. Mister Gukathul needs to train his pets better; they are not nice to visitors.

Mister Balthor is another schizophrenic magey person who cannot make up his mind what his name is because he does not know if it should be Clanegged or Balthor. Silly archmage person. At least he is sensible enough to know that cake solves everything, so there is hope for him yet.

Xyr is really good at finding things, like lost Emperors that Solas like to throw off cliffs. Xyr smarrrt.

Hans is a big big teddy bear friend of Shihaya’zad’s who likes to shuffle away from Tristans that try to pet him.

Ana’Estasia saw the pale scary men at Buckshire too, though I did not see her seeing me see the pale scary men.

Jet is a sneakifying Emperor abductor who can hide from insanely powerful archmages even if they cast a spell to see things no one else can see.

Jim has a deep and profound fascination with the ground, so much so that she likes to look at it all the time and is scared of looking directly at Emperors. Perhaps it is tied in with her narcoleptic tendencies, because there is a saying that goes that if you keep looking at the ground that is where you will end up, and the has a tendency to fall asleep suddenly and end up on the ground.

Tuck knows this really spiffy Dwarf song which Mister Tristan didn’t like for some strange reason. It goes something like, “Ale, ale, ale, ale, ale, ale, ale, ale, aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeele!!! ale ale ale ale!” — though I am not certain if I recall the words correctly.

Eleanor has a nice teddy and I told her the meaning of raar and she told her teddy and the smart teddy now knows how to raar. Spiffy.

Mister Gabriel the Emissary man really likes riddles. Lots of people do not like him for some odd reason though I do not know why. He cannot help it if the only friends he has are naughty bad undead—I mean, if no one else will be his friend, he doesn’t have very much of a choice does he?

Sara does not like Mister Jack Flashblade all that much though I do not know why, because he helped redecorate the icky bad undead place and make it look like Mister Ender’s tent after we all went bye-byes because of an insanely big army of undead that wanted to eat us.

Mister Tagius looks a little bit like a Pes, though that is something of a trend I am noticing. There are lots and lots of people going around looking like a Mister Pes these days. Maybe it is a fashion trend or something to wear dark heavy armour and a scary helmet.

Cora smirks and whispers lots.

Margrave has an obsession with birds. I think he is an ornithologist or something.

Sirac is a scout type person who is really good at sneakifying, though it is a rather obsolete skill because he drinks lots and the people he is sneaking up on can probably smell the alcohol from a mile away.

Ninety per cent of Jubei’s vocabulary consists of the word “arrrr”, “arr”, “arrrrrrrrrrrrr” and similar variations of that sound.

Milla ((Camilla Callisto))... ummm *pause*... come to think of it, I will get back to you on that one too.

Aloria is very scared of being skinned and tanned to become a pillowcase for the White Bishop. I guess Midor is not a good place for Elfy people to be at this point in time.

Andurian is very good at knitting and he has an imp friend named Edwin who needs fiddlesticks for some reason.

Mister Lucifer is a very nervous man and he has a big grey scaly friend with a whip who likes to yell at him lots and tell him what a failure he is. Poor Lucifer. He needs nicer friends. Maybe he should say hello to Mister Gabriel the Emissary man.

Gregor smokes lots and calls everyone “man”. I think he has had a little too much of Mister Winky’s special blend.

I think Claria thinks that crazy things tend to happen around me even after I told her about all the crazy situations that I have been in that I did not start. I mean, just because every situation I walk into is crazy, does not mean I made it happen or have a tendency to only get into crazy things.

Doriadoc has a habit of saying “Bless you” to Shihaya’zad every time she says her name, and he says that it is because that it is because her name means “Bless You” and maybe she is coming down with a cold.

Mister Tydus is actually Mister Romulus but he is pretending his name is Tydus because he is apparently unpopular and also because Mister Trent was teasing him for being Mister Romulus. Shhh. Don’t tell anyone.

Connavar is a metalman but he is not THE Metalman, which is okay because there can only be one person who is The Metalman, and besides, a metalman is still a good thing to have around to hide behind in dangerous situations.

Roland is a Knight who is pretty smart and he knows lots of helpful things. For instance, Orcs eat everything, even houses, though obviously they cannot eat the whole thing at once. He does not rate very highly on the trouble-o-metre, though. I think he needs to meet an Emissary of Undeath or a vampire lady or a Prince of Hell or something in order to remedy that. He says Midoran’s Will guides the trouble-o-metre. Spiffy.

Drogar has the same problem as Roland. He says that trouble does not usually come to him, but I am thinking maybe it does and he just does not know it, because some of the tales he has told sure sound like trouble to me.

Lady Right-Sized ((Meram Anttin)) is a big fan of wine, especially if someone else is buying drinks.

Daimon is Big Trouble. The trouble-o-metre said so and it was right.

Tyailin likes to walk into bright lights. Especially if they are bright lights which set off alarms in the Temple of Menarok, god of lies and shadows, deep in the heart of Nethar’u, home of the demons. I think someone needs to cure him of that habit.

Calia Qu’Estrael has a habit of making big long dramatic speeches and prayers. They are not as good as the ones that His Eminence Vidus Khain White Bishop of Midor gives, though.

Brother Trenton does a lot of gesturing and stuff but apparently he is not a mage person so I am not sure what he is trying to do with all that waving that he does.

Makralon is an Elfy person who is not a gardener, which is strange because I thought all Elfy people were inherently gardeners.

Suji wears a pointy hat like Sam’s and he acts a lot like him, only he is not whooshy fast. I think. I have not tested that yet.

Sir Lothar is in charge of the Happy Harpy Hall and he was not aware that it was a prerequisite for insanely powerful archmages to have a mental dysfunction. It is a good thing I ran into him and educated him on that matter. Everyone should know that!

Melphus is a very smart and spiffy man who can turn into all sorts of fun things and understands the importance of fwazaaming and cake. He is going to need a new back so I am thinking maybe I will invent him one, though he says that by the time I finish making it he may need his entire self re-invented. Hmph. Two centuries is not that long.

Alton’s best friend Miss Vilvayve does not like Mister Loki, nuh uh. After Mister Alton told him that, I do not think Mister Loki likes her either.

Wierex has a doggie named Yugoth but he says Yugoth does not like strangers very much. Yugoth needs to meet Bob. Bob is a nice doggie and all doggies should be nice like Bob.

Norran likes my new teddy and I think the teddy likes him too.

Arïssan speaks Elfy a lot and I think he does not believe me when I say that cake and fwazaaming can solve any problem.

Amaryl speaks Elfy a lot and likes to hide. I am thinking maybe she does not like trouble and if hiding fails then she will speak Elfy at it in the hopes of intimidating it into going away because I think if Trouble were an entity, Trouble would not speak Elfy and would get terribly confuzzled and leave immediately.

Natika is an old friend of Bereil’s and she was really impressed by Miss Blanche’s stick for some reason or other.

Count Valinor is a really nice man who lives in a really big castle and likes to pet Bunts on the head.

The Righteous Sword Knight who the other guards called “Red” is a lot like Mister Arcane—not very conversational and really into hitting things with a sword.

Mister Vidus is some sort of important person in Midor and not many people I know like him. He really likes tea and has some magey friends who really like following him around, though they do not talk much. Mister Vidus is even more obsessed with Mister Midoran than Peter and Trent and Tagius combined. He is really really good at giving speeches; I am thinking maybe he has had proper lessons.

Ray does not like Mister Bereil very much and tried to smoosh him and Miss Shihaya’zad, which ended up with some cranky lady telling the two insane archmages off for thinking they were invincible or something.

Mister Harold is a neat artist man and he makes art out of icky raw meat and sold some of his art at an auction. Wow. People will pay lots of money for anything labelled “art”.

Dark Quicklings are fun fun fun and like to play play play and have a fascination with tambourines. Spiffy!

Shinesa picks really odd places to go and gather branches for making staves. I mean, there are heaps of branches in Latonei and Mystic Woods, why would you go into a deadly spookifying wood filled with Elfy people who like to kill you when there is wood right outside where you live?
