Completed quests Posted: 28 Dec 2004 11:13 AM |
Just a suggestion about quests really - I like the ones I've done and I like finding new ones, my only niggle is that you have no permanent record of which ones you've done. Is there no way of setting a toggle or whatever so your characters Journal stays updated with completed quests? Since the characters used on vives are used only in vives, rather than other servers and other quests. Also - maybe a few more wandering tinkers/gossips etc. who could give you clues towards quest - like where to find quests on offer and clues towards completing quests.

| I started using the journal to track quests by writing in my journal which quests I am working on and which I completed. I agree it would be nice if Vives could find a way to use the automatic journal, but until then you can type them in yourself on that last journal page. |

| Has there been any follow up to this? I find that I talk to a great many people and they ask me to do things but I can't keep them all straight. I am sure many of us try to use the journal but personally I think it just gets too unwieldy. Having automated journal entries is the kind of depth of programming that really seperates PWs. |

| I don't think anything has been done about it for old quests because it is an enormous amount of work to restrospectively add in this info for the existing quests. I think the plan is that new quests will update your journal, but it really depends on who is writing the quests. |

All the quests would need to be rewritten, rescripted to use the journal. It's not a small job.
It is already on our todo list.
Why wasn't the journal used originally? Not sure as I wasnt around when that decision was made. Perhaps the original intent was that players should be responsible enough to keep track of their own things?
Regardless, we need to fix us some quest bugs anyway and the journal will help in that.
