NPC Tailor

Just a thought here, since I've seen this type of NPC before on many other servers. What about adding in a NPC, or simply adding a script to the NPCs already in the tailor shops, which can tailor the clothes right on you for a price?
Just like when you click on your crafting ability, going through that whole setup.
Any thoughts towards this?

I have to confess Im not quite sure how that crafting thing works anyway. Do we need to have the skill before we can do it or is it open to everyone?
In which case is the suggestion merely for RP purposes or is it so that more people can do it or there are more designs available?
One thing I would really like to see IG (and I have no idea where this would come from) is hooded cloaks/ robes. I think its a real shame that this is lacking and it would be nice if you could choose to put the hood up or not. Personally I think that would add a lot, not just to the look of Vives but also the RP. Im guessing though that this would be a lot of work. |

I -think- you can only be a hooded character of you choose the hooded character head at character creation time.
No idea if this can be implemented as a changeable thing IG. I doubt it as it seems impossible to change appearance like hairstyle etc.
But then I am not technical at all and know mostly nothing .

Apparently there are some haks and in particular the CEP which does have hoods. Presumably these would work just like helms and you simply put them on when you want to put your hood up.
Is this a possible gain? |

I think a tailor would be very cool, but there would have to be some way to see and choose the design you want for arms/legs/shoulders etc that you get IG
Would this be possible?

I can't think of one... I think if anything.. we should just expand on this already partially implemented idea... Dram Maleaf already sells Blank clothes and dyes.... Adjusting these blank clothes with 0 skill costs about 1 gold each attempt.
The only real problem is that the clothes start out white.. but still contain White leather elements... and she only offers clothing dyes.
as for the Hoods.. I've played on several servers with them... One server used a helm model that was a modified version of the hooded human heads, adjusted for each species.. another server had something else going on... and used a hood that wasn't even a helm, but visual aspect only... kind of like the servers that have conditioned appearance worn Cloaks and Quivers (When you are wearing a cloak in inventory, and when you are using a bow)

| Yeah some of the CEP stuff is really great for making clothes, it has beautiful cloaks and some much better options for parts of clothing. Also do you think there is a chance if the IG talior only has cloth dyes that we can have leather and metal ones put in? I haven't brought any yet but was going to make something to wear soon and not having leather and metal dyes might pose a problem. |

There's plenty of tailoring scripted NPC's on the vault. All do it differently through conversation. In general, you decide which part of the clothing/armor you want to alter, even the coloring if you want, and the NPC changes it for you for a certain amount of gold. Which depends on the total cost of the armor. So if it's a +5 piece of armor you want to change, it's going to cost quite a hefty amount where as only a simple tunic would cost only a few.
The reason why I brought this up, is that not everyone has put skill points into craft armor/weapon, and it can be near impossible to alter your clothing the way you wish to see fit. Of course I'm sure there are PC's that can do it for you, but it can be difficult without seeing the armor on yourself.
Just a suggestion, since I love customizing my own appearance to a degree that suits the character I'm playing.

It's not as easy as importing one on NWVault for example, as we're utilising many clothing haks........ so we need to quite a lot of code alterations :)

For tailors... This one claims to work with any haks.. Not sure if its true but *Shrug*

Which is why I pointed out the 2nd link.. It Fixes the sytem, but still makes PC crafters useable. Ara already knows about it, but figured putting it in the forum may make sure they dont, forget. ;)
Also the first one after researching it, is a little To powerful I think for Vives tastes. |

Veran can you make a set of ordinary robes look like the Kaazim kind with a cloak even though it doesnt have one at base.
