Spellcasting XP and Wizard Vs Sorcerer Posted: 27 Feb 2004 03:38 PM |
My character recently acquired a large number of new spell scrolls, and this led to a realization that there is an inequality in XP awards between the Wizard and Sorcerer.
As one continues to use the same spell repeatedly over time, the XP award for the spell goes down to some minimum. Since Sorcerers only have a few spells, they will end up getting the minimum XP award on each and every one of their spells relatively quickly. The Wizard however, has lots of spells he can cast (once acquired), and therefore more spells to gain the "not yet degraded" XP from, which in turn will cause him to gain XP faster than the Sorcerer.
Perhaps one can say this is the reward for the Wizards hard work, but in any case, I thought that I should point it out. |

Personally, I've played both a wiz and a sor (though not on this server (yet)) - I think it works out fine because spellcastuing xp is much more benificial at lower levels and as an offset at lower level sorcerors get to cast more spells per day, while wizards ahve very few to start.

In that case, it sounds like this has already been considered. Guess I'm still getting up to speed on how well thought out things are here. |
